I'm a Comm Arts major and this was by far the worst CA class I've taken at UW Madison. The entire class is centered around research and the PowerPoints just go through confusing and boring stats. Exams are worded weird and are out of 18 points so you have little room for error. Prof Scherr seems like a nice guy, but this class was incredibly boringRate My Professors ↗

Sebastian is a very interesting individual who is obviously very intelligent and knowledgeable about his subject matter. I always enjoyed the humor he brought to class. However, his lectures tend to be a bit dry and the overall content is not very easy to grasp without additional help and studying. I would not want to repeat this class.Rate My Professors ↗

Despite being an untraditional class layout, the lecture was always interesting to attend. We were shown real studies and their relationships with major class topics. Sebastian was passionate about his work and it showed through his teaching. Stats was NOT required. We were given basic graphs that any college student should be able to read.Rate My Professors ↗

Literally the worst Communication Arts class I have ever taken on campus. I took this class simply out of the great interest in social media and communication but this class turned out to be a huge disappointment.Rate My Professors ↗

Had Sebastian for two classes & am just confused about what to think of him. He's truly a nice guy and means well, and I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt since it was his first time teaching in the U.S., but the way he taught CA377 made no sense. It's comm. arts taught like a stats class (??) which really hurt my interest in the classRate My Professors ↗

This is the most confusing class I have ever taken. There are 6 papers throughout the semester that are worth 8 percent of our grade each and the TA's are very hard on grading them. The class is 300 students and the last time I went to class, only 15 other students were there bc the lectures make no sense. Also the final is 45% so good luck.Rate My Professors ↗
