I struggled with serious mental illness the semester I took Sarah's class. I was able to turn in A-level work, always on time, but was sometimes unable to make it to class. I became too ill to attend the final exam. I felt guilty and was unable to advocate for myself. Dr. Anderson failed me. It remains one of my most sorrowful memories of college.Rate My Professors ↗
Sarah (Anderson) Wood is an amazing professor. She truly cares and wants students to succeed. She is understanding and easily accessible outside class. It can be difficult to keep up with the readings (Modernist Novels), but try not to get behind with the daily work. Does contract grading and prefers projects over papers. Hands down one of the best classes I've ever taken. I hated poetry coming into this class, but she made me love it. The class did kick my ass though. She makes you work for it and is willing to help you the entire way. She's not only a great professor, but a great person. Not sure if I want her to be my best friend or adopt me. Highly recommend taking a class taught by Dr. Sarah (Anderson) Wood. She is not only very intelligent, but cares about her students and genuinely wants them to succeed. You need to do the reading to stay up-to-date in this class and there is a lot of daily work involved (reading journal), but she is a very fair grader and provides good feedback.Rate My Professors ↗
Sarah is fantastic. She's so friendly and intelligent. She is passionate about the books and willing to be helpful, and she really encourages everyone's ideas. But her class is hard; you HAVE to attend and read and take notes and KEEP UP. She's also a super tough grader; she expects you to listen and learn. Book choices are excellent.Rate My Professors ↗
