Dr. Bosco was new to teaching when I had her, but I think they were a wonderful instructor and genuinely did their best. She was really good about responding to concerns/feedback well and adjusting as needed, and her aptness to bring in guest lecturers more familiar with specific content or experiences was admirable. Dr. Bosco's lectures were boring and she did not seem to be an expert in the field at all. She is overall just a poor lecturer who needs to change her approach to engage and teach more effectively. She struggled with basic technology all semester, and shared personal political opinions in a way that seemed to isolate students who thought different.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Bosco and the TAs were very nice and understanding, but the class was poorly put together and lots of the material didn't really correlate. There was a ton of writing and the readings are marginally important and can be skimmed through.Rate My Professors ↗
She is a nice person, but not a great professor. Participation matters in discussions because you are graded weekly, 2-3 page papers are due every week with longer papers/projects due every 6 weeks. Lots of reading, but I would just skim for the main idea. Usually, material from lectures didn't really relate to weekly assignments.Rate My Professors ↗
I believe Dr. Bosco was commissioned to teach this class at the last minute; this was her 1st time teaching it I think. Not a great lecturer. Never spoke with them directly; was way closer with my TA. The readings were important and interesting, but the lectures were pretty boring. It's an easy class if you do the work.
