Tests are heavily weighted, they're tough. Lectures doesn't help, he tested harder that what he would teach in the lecture. I studied hard but it doesn't seem like a class that your effort gets pay back.

I don't think his teaching style is for me. He would often stay on one slide (graph, bar chart, news article, reading) for the majority of the class, and he would get sidetracked. Many of my friends warned me that this class was unnecessarily hard for a business elective. Grading system is not great, and HW is super long for only 7 points.

Professor Tuli's lectures have been the only one's I've attended at UW where I haven't checked the time and thought "when will this end". His tests are also not difficult if you attend lectures and study your notes. He is a very fair grader and removed questions he deemed too difficult for the class on exams.

Sachin Tuli was condescending, but I still would recommend taking this class and liked the TAs. The discussion sections are mandatory, and participation and attendance are mandatory for discussion class. The class was weird since there was no textbook, we would read articles that were more than 5-10 years old and not fact check them.

I have never rated a professor before, but I went out of my way to mention how AWESOME Sachin Tuli is. His lectures are really interesting and content-packed. He knows his course topics like no other and has a lot of good/relatable stories and examples for each topic. Additionally, Sachin is very approachable as well. Highly recommend.

I had Sachin for both MKT 420 and IB 200. Absolute legend of a professor. For IB 200, you can reliably skip class and be ok, although I wouldn't recommend because his lectures are great. He makes time for students outside of class and really cares, especially if you participate. I recommend him if you're trying to get an easy A or learn alot

I found this class really interesting, but I'm also really interested in the subject. Lectures are not mandatory, but I definitely recommend showing up, there are a lot of things that can be missed. They really prepare you for quizzes, lots of review. Still recommend studying though, there is a lot of content that is covered.

The class is incredibly boring and uninteresting to me which makes it hard to pay attention but you may enjoy it. I have a bad grade but it honestly isn't a hard class. 4 quizzes, some homework, one group project and weekly readings. Discussions are helpful and the only thing I attend. Don't be like me... go to lecture and you'll do fine.

This is a material dense course, but as long as you attend and pay attention to lectures, you will be fine. We had quizzes on Sunday nights, so be mindful of that before signing up. Professor Tuli is great, and he is truly passionate about what he teaches. You'll hear a lot about China and India and will be opened to so many new perspectives.

Lectures were engaging. Not too much coursework and most is relevant to today's world

He's the best! Take his class!! Best class and professor ever. Quizzes are basically lecture content

Sachin has such a unique perspective. Loved hearing about his professional experience in intl bus. Class is super easy, most quiz answers are on the slide or discussed in section. If you pay attention, you'll be fine. He's so personable, and genuinely cares about his students. HIGHLY recommend!

Sachin was amazing! He knows so much about international business and cares a lot about his students also understanding it and wants us to succeed. The exams/quizzes were not difficult if you attend lectures because everything you need to know is in the slides. Take IB200 with him if you have the chance!

Sachin is an amazing lecturer and it is clear that he cares about us understanding the content. He presented things very clearly and likes to know what we think about the content. His memes get me through the day and he gives solid advice. Overall, as long as you understand the content you should be fine and there is not a lot of work

Sachin is a great professor. His lectures were interesting, engaging, and contemporary and he was very passionate about the material. He really cares about his students and makes sure you understand why the material is important in the real world. If you get the chance to take a class with him, specifically IB 200, do it.

His organization skills were above and beyond. His class is graded by five quizzes (each ten percent), a final, a group project for discussion, and attendance for discussion. I think the class is pretty straightforward. If you go to class, he gives the concepts that you need to know. He is super reasonable, nice, and tries to make class engaging.

Sachin has no concern for students. He is condescending during office hours and would often get frustrated with me when I asked questions. During the pandemic, he made students come to class and would punish us with extra work if we were sick. I really wanted to like him and the class, but the grading criteria were super unclear.

Sachin is the best teacher at UW-Madison and has so much passion for business in India and China that are very interesting for any business major.

Sachin is a homie. He does a really nice job keeping lecture engaging and well connected to current events

He is the best!

Sachin is a great guy, and you can tell he genuinely cares about students learning the material from day one. The discussions are mandatory but SUPER helpful. You'll go over practice questions and worksheets that are nearly verbatim from the exams. Take pictures of these practice problems/write them down and you should be golden. Love this class!

There's no textbook, he just assigns current articles that are relevant to the class content. Pretty chill class, he tries to turn the lecture into a discussion so if you participate class will flow better. There are some geography questions on the exam that people were worried about but it was like Japan and Brazil, don't stress about geography.

Sachin is a really good professor! He is funny, makes material easy to understand, and cares about his students' success. The tests are normal, but going to class is a must because some questions are word-for-word what he says in lecture and slides don't always have the info. Discussion participation is necessary and attendance is mandatory.

Very project intensive. Had to complete 4 group presentations. 1 midterm and 1 final. Otherwise he is pretty interesting. Very knowledgeable knows what he is talking about. Takes attendance by having you sign your name card every lecture.

He is very straight forward. 2 midterms and a final. They are directly off the slides so just re-read them and you should be fine. Discussion section is mandatory and you are required to participate. There is one group project "pair share" but that is basically it

Great instructor. Keeps material up to date no textbook.

IB200 ended up being one of my favorite classes this semester because of Sachin! He is so knowledgeable and truly cares about students learning the material! We had two midterms and one final exam. Discussion attendance mandatory. It shouldn't be hard to get an A or AB if you go to lecture. If you're debating taking the class, just do it!

Sachin was an amazing professor. I would, for sure, take another course with him. Always accessible outside of class and always giving good feedbacks and direction when you start to feel lost. Amazing guy, go for it.

Sachin is a great professor who is very knowledgable about International Business. As a non-Business school student, he made IB200 extremely interesting and accessible. He understands real life applications and makes IB really practical. One of the best professors I've had at UW and would take any of his classes again.

He makes you work for your grade but if you got to lecture its pretty easy to get an A or AB.

Sachin is a great guy. He is a great lecturer and you can tell he is passionate about international business. However, because of his lectures being so great you cannot miss them. If you miss one or even zone out in the lecture it is a hard hole to dig out of because the testes are heavily based on lecture rather than his slides. Take good notes

It is international business but somehow felt it was more focus on India. Have to know where countries are located in the map (exam questions). It doesnt really make any sense why we must know, its not geography class.

Class is not difficult but his slides doesnt cover everything. If you skip one day you will have to ask for notes because questions on the exam is based on what he mentions in class which might not be written on his slides. TA was not helpful at all.

The material is not difficult to understand but the exams are harder than expected and the professor is a tough grader.

Tuli is the man! Lectures aren't mandatory but very interesting and relate to many current global issues. This class provides great general knowledge that gives a global perspective and Tuli genuinely cares about his students success.

Great professor. Took him for both IB 200 and MKT 420

He is awesome!

Sachin is a very kind and nice person Course was quite easy, but very intensive ( 4 weeks) overall, strongly recommend

Sachin is a great professor who makes international business as interesting as possible. The class was fairly easy, but going to lecture is definitely beneficial as not all of the info he covers is on the slides. Discussion assignments were sometimes useful to understand material. Overall easy class and not that time consuming

Sachin is the MAN. He's is very funny, relatable, and genuinely cares about International Business as well as his students. His tests are mainly multiple choice and all from lecture material. Attending lecture and taking notes are key to succeeding. Great professor.

Sachin makes his lectures interesting, and his exams are fair - honestly just really study the lecture notes and you'll be fine. Discussion is really easy, the "assignments take like 15 minutes. He is slow to respond to email, so I always asked him questions before class. Final exam was the easiest I've had at UW. Take IB200!

Genuinely passionate about his classes and wants his students to do well. This is the second course Ive taken with him but IB200 was much harder than the other higher level class I took with him. Gives you online, current articles to read instead of books and he always has great examples from his own experience.

I love Sachin. He provided very helpful examples during lectures, such as the differences between how Americans and Indians enjoy their Domino's pizza. Funny enough, in India, Domino's pizza is served with ketchup, lol.

Took Sachin's IB200 class this summer and was amazed. One of the best courses I've taken at UW thus far. Summer class size is small and lectures were more of a big group discussion with lots of participation. I would talk with Prof Tuli after class about global events or the material and he was always willing to answer questions. Fun Positive class

Really liked the class.

Really enjoyable professor and class! Although there are potentially 4 group presentations (only 3 groups present for 2 of them) you are able to work with the same group throughout the semester so it eases as the semester goes on. Only 2 quizzes- the study guide he gives out beforehand has all of the questions. Participate and you will be fine!

Sachin is awesome. He really cares about what he teaches, and he really cares about his students. He does a great job of covering almost all aspects of business from an international perspective and gives great real-world examples. He's also got a lot of cool stories that he's happy to share both in lecture and office hours.

Loved this class. Most lectures were interesting and he worked very hard to make sure examples were relevant and recent. There were few group projects and a couple tests but all were fairly easy.

I love Sachin! He's a great professor who works to stimulate interest - readings inspired good interest & loved that class was mix of lecture and discussions. Lots of presentations of projects; was a slower grader, but fair. You will definitely work a lot for your grade, but overall he's great and I really enjoyed the class.

Sachin was by far the most inspiring professor I had at UW Madison. While it was not the easiest class I've taken, he was really good at inspiring student participation in class and discussions. Other professors I've had just reads off of the syllabus, where Sachin actually tries to get people to discuss different topics.

Amazing professor! So helpful and sparked interest in this class

Love Sachin. The class material isn't super interesting but he works really hard to make the material applicable and interesting. He is a great guy who really cares about how well his students do in his class. He has a lot of great real-world examples to aid his explanations of the material. Go to his office hours!

I had Sachin for IB200 and MKT420. Nicest professor I have ever had in the Bschool and really cares that his students understand global marketing. I wish there was another class I could take with him! He was born in India and thus had a great idea of global business strategies!

Sachin is first off just a good guy, and looks out for his students. Disregard negative feedback left on here. Class is informative while not being overly challenging. Exams are straight forward and fair. No tricks just come to class, put effort into your projects and participate and you will have success and enjoy the class and the professor.

Great guy, horrible professor. doesnt give any resources for the exams. exams are very picky would not recommend this class.

Sachin is a nice guy who's very passionate about the class. His lectures can get a bit boring and mostly consist of him talking at the class for 50 minutes straight, but if you have any interest in international business its not too bad. The midterm was very fair, and the group project was really easy.

Really nice guy and interesting class. It is a great atmosphere and getting an A is totally doable. Group project is simple, midterm exam is fair.

Great teacher, to basic of a class. Take a more advanced on with him instead.

Awesome guy! Second semester with Sachin, also had him for IB200. Class was basically a combination of 200 and MKT300. Upper level course, 40 students, focused on case studies and articles. Easy class if you participate. Group project's only direction "Design a global marketing strategy". Make sure you meet with him to get feedback and guidance

Easy class with easiest group project I've ever done. He won't let you see your midterm after you take it, which is just him being too lazy to write new questions for the final. Good class for international studies majors without a business background. TAs and discussion were unhelpful and a waste of time

Professor Tuli is a truly caring person and is willing to help all of his students succeed. Get to know him because he is a great guy and very knowledgeable about the business world!

Professor Tuli is truly one of the best professors I've had at Madison. I was apprehensive about taking the class because I had heard it was boring and difficult, but its really what you make of it. You shouldn't even need to open your textbook at all if you attend lectures, and his grading is very fair and forgiving in the end.

I took IB 200 w/ Tuli, and fell asleep more often than not in lecture. Class seems to be geared towards non-business students, you'll cover a wide variety of basic topics that aren't challenging. Exams are incredibly easy, just memorize lecture slides. Group project is easiest one in the b-school. Honestly this class is painfully easy + tedious.

Sachin Tuli is a great professor! He really wants his students to understand the information. Very clear communication of concepts and he makes lectures as interesting as the subject can be. Tests are based mostly on lecture and very fair. One of my favorite professors at Wisconsin.

Sachin & this class are awesome. I loved it. Since he posts lecture notes online, lectures aren't essential to go to, although he normally throws on a few random lecture questions on tests. Reading the book isn't necessary. Tests are easy. Work hard on the group project and you will do well. I had Miriam as a TA and loved her. Great class.

Tuli adds nothing additional to lectures, follows powerpoints. Exams can be picky, but if you study the main concepts it is ok. If you read the slides and skim the book, you should do well.

Too much book, very very very picky on tests.

If you love international business, this is the class for you and it will be incredibly easy. Sachin is an outstanding teacher who will help you understand the world market.

What a pompous jerk! Extremely strict rules about everything, lectures are horribly boring, and he makes exams way too easy so the curve is impossible (except for the final which was too long). The project is such a waste of time. In spite of all this, I learned so many useful things. It just would have been better with a different instructor.

Sachin's really helpful outside of the classroom and is really well intentioned. He speaks at lightening speed in lecture and it can get boring at times, but the class is pretty interesting all in all. Group project sucks, but is only a few pages and a 15 minutes presentation.

Sachin is a very nice guy if you get to know him, with a little pompous air in him. His lectures provides lots of his so called "rich" experience in the field. Need LOTS of memorizing in this class, VERY specific on exams.

Very nice in person, but very boring as a teacher.

He really knows his stuff, but his lectures are really boring. He could make the subject so interesting, but he is monotonous, which kind of ruins it.

Sometimes lectures got a bit boring, but overall he was a good professor. He knows his stuff so ask him a question in you don't understand or if you are interested, it is worth your while. The book helps for the tests. You really have to study for his tests.

For me the class wasn't so bad, just summarized the book (around the bold terms) and understood what his lecture notes meant. Only went to the TA to understand the exchange rates which weren't too bad. Final is easier which is good. Got an A in the class. Most people just make things harder on themselves by not going to class. TAs,are VERY helpful

This class is such a load of crap. The topics could be interesting if the tests werent just random facts that no one remembered. It's just a class thats harder than it should be..too bad the guy who taught it before retired...heard he was a decent teacher.Tuli is still in his first year teaching and wants to make a point that he can teach- he cant!

Sachin is a really nice guy, but the class was much less engaging than I had hoped. The tests had lots of trivial questions that didn't really test in a fair or efficient manner

Although the tests were pretty difficult, he is a nice guy who is more than willing to meet with you outside of class. If you go to his office hours, and try to absorb all the material at lecture you should do fine.

I think he tried to hard to make the test much harder than the material should be. The questions were so irrelevant to the actual material, ESPECIALLY the True/False. Nice guy, but STUPID exams.

Exams were irrelevant to the material. He asked difficult questions on little details that did not pertain to the information in the text. Lecture was pretty boring. The textbook is tedious and will make you fall asleep. Material is somewhat interesting, but he will make you hate it. He is nice, but is a terrible professor & writes awful exams.

Makes little use of the text. Bases exam questions on obscure references to videos shown in class. Provides inadequate instruction for clarity of accomplishing class assignments

Lecture's werent that boring, but the tests were just RIDICULOUS. The midterms were random facts and nitpick quotes that no one remembered. Material wasn't hard, but the tests were terrible, and didn't test learning or aptitude at all.
