I really liked her. Her lectures were very straightforward and she even tells you what concepts to study before the exam. I found the exams to be pretty easy. She also does review sessions before the exams which help alot and she records all of her lectures.

She was excellent at explaining the concepts. Class was laid out very clearly.

she is brutal. Exams do not reflect what you actually learn in class. Had to drop the class because thats how brutal her grading policies are. Please take literally any other professor besides her for 210. Please please please

Very disorganized, slow grading, confusing when walking through problems

Please do not take the class with her! My TA's discussions were more helpful than her lectures. She does not align her lectures with homework bc it consisted of material from the following lecture. She yaps about examples for too long, that it starts to make no sense. She made me hate a class I took a great interest in.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR/you will fail this class regardless of how much effort u put in/she sabotages you/the exam questions are paragraphs/there is no curve/she wastes the whole lecture talking about dogs/attendance is REQUIRED yet you will learn nothing for the whole 1 and 15/seriously take another professor this is a warning

Falls behind on class content schedule/Gives examples in class that turn into stories not related to helpful material overcomplicating it/Material on tests does not accurately reflect content in lecture/Attendance is mandatory but I've been better off reading the textbook/Explain processes behind everything on tests even if she doesnt explain it.

Take with any other professor if you can. Only way to survive and get a decent grade is a good TA who explains examples during lab. Attendance is mandatory but lecture is unhelpful. Tangents that provide no understanding. Behind in content but still tested on things we haven't covered yet. Have to follow along with her writing on a piece of paper.

Nice person but a horrible lecturer. Every lecture is extremely boring and slow. She overexplains everything. The pacing of the class is really weird in terms of content. The tests were unnecessarily hard (average score was 60% on first test). I took stats before and she made me question if I really knew stats. Leave each class with a headache.

Everything on exams was straight from lectures. You can tell she cares about students & was nice to accommodate me when I was sick. Not the best class, but it's okay. I even took 210 with her which was more difficult but she breaks stuff down. The exams were harder than the homework which sucked, but I did notice she made a point to learn our names

Honestly the TA you get for this class matters drastically. Mine was amazing, while the other I heard was awful and graded harshly. I had Addington for 202, and don't mind her teaching style; however, an AP stats background greatly helped me here. If you don't like stats, or have had Addington before and didn't like her, take another professor.

Do not take 210 ever unless absolutely required. And if it is, take henriquez. I took 202 with her and it was fine/good. After how poorly 210 was dealt with this semester I have nothing but negative things to say and will never take another course of hers. Save yourself the fruitless time and effort.

Abandoned her students mid semester, no curve on any test after. get ready to know every niche subject in the textook

Her TA easily tanks the class average. Her TA grades every written assignment and takes off little half points here and there that are the difference between an A and a B. She was also gone for more than half the semester making the class even harder to do well in. No compensation for her absences was given at the end of the semester either.

Prof. Addington knows what she's doing but isn't good at preparing you for the exams. Most of the material from lectures and the textbook is straightforward. Even if you learned them you'd still have to learn beyond to get a good exam score. The TAs are very strict on quizzes and are not lenient. Do the Extra Credit as it'll boost you up 5%.

Most difficult class I've ever taken. Tutored 3x a week & still had panic attacks ab how difficult this class was. She wrote exams, Henriques taught. Hw and exams graded HARSHLY. This is the class you worry ab passing. Avg on exams is a D. Educated, but very poor professor. U must teach urself outside of class or be a bot to do okay. DISORGANIZED.

I just genuinely hates her. She is terrible. She got injured so she made us watch past semesters' recordings without cropping them, instead, she was like start from 20:46 and end this video at 45:34 and start another video at...The final exam is heavy-cumulative, which makes no sense since she was lacking on teaching and had to find a substitute.

If you're good at auditory learning and retaining information then you'll find this class easier than others. The lectures feel long and are taught slowly. I saw that many people were sidetracked on their computers rather than note taking because they were bored; I don't blame them. Tests are difficult and HW adds up quickly. Must study and read TB

Addington was alright for the weeks we had her. She got into an accident this semester and was literally physically unable to walk, so it is disheartening to see complaints about her not showing up. Her lectures were monotonous, but the information is easy enough to learn just from the lecture slides and making flashcards. Extra credit too.

I took AP Stats in high school and I still struggled heavily with this class. Lectures were extremely unclear, basically had to self teach yourself the content to learn anything. Averages on tests were 60% and had barely any curve. Test questions did not match lecture material. She spent more time talking about her dogs than teaching stats.

Lectures were extremely boring and she just read off the slides which seemed poorly made. I got more enjoyment out of reading the textbook then lectures. After Addington's mysterious disappearance and a month of canceled class, Jonathan Gallimore taught our lectures. He clearly cared about the subject and made lectures enjoyable. Take it with him!

While she was gone due to an accident and being unable to make it to lecture, when she was teaching the course it was at times, hard to follow and understand what was going on in lecture. I pretty much had to teach myself everything in the class from the textbook (which is very long readings every week) and reviewing the lecture slides.

If you have to take Psych 202, do it with anyone else. Lectures are monotonous and boring, (she just reads off the slides) but you have to go a certain number of times a semester. Mostly exam based, but no practice exams are given, so it is only based off of your own studying and comprehension of the vocab terms, lots of application questions.

She doesn't show up for 4 weeks and provides little to no reparations. I did bad on the tests because she just isn't even teaching and now she isn't posting old lectures for us because this isn't an online course but we were literally forced to make it one? I hate this class and am very disappointed by the professor.

Watch the lecture videos and go over the review sheets! I also took 210 with her which required a little more than just the lectures but lab is very helpful. She basically gives you everything you need to know for the exam. She is also nice if you talk to her one-on-one and she makes an effort to know her students (in the smaller classes at least).

Tests are tough, lectures boring, and grading harsh. But with focus and unstuck ai for exam prep, you can still pull off an A. Just don't expect much help from the professor.

Hands down the worst professor on campus. If you have to take psych 202, do not take it with her. No matter what others say, unless this class is way above priority level compared to your others, its not worth it.

Terrible lectures that are hard to follow and understand the information being told. With lecture being mandatory it is almost better to just go through the textbook during class because it takes so long to go through. Watch the videos from lecture after class to save time. A lot of terms to remember that she doesn't give the definition for

She has zero anticipation during her lectures, which makes learning just super boring. She's and extremely hard grader, and she constantly talks about her dog training which gets very annoying. Don't recommend.

No extra credit opportunities at all. Your grade is completely dependent on two exams and the final. Made exams extremely difficult and impossible to answer according to her standards. Made one question 10,15,20+ points each (could have been one singular sentence, and if wrong you lose 20 points). Cannot improve by any means after bad first exam.

She is an okay professor. She knows a lot about the psychology of human-animal interaction as she is a dog trainer outside of being a professor, but she isn't the most interesting lecturer and is slow to grade homework and projects despite assigning many assignments. The content is very interesting if you like animals, but can be obvious at times.

Professor Adddington is a very fair professor. If you attend lecture, do the homework, and the extra practice questions, you will be able to succeed in the class. She is also very accessible in office hours, and happy to answer questions.

She tested on very specific information and made the exams extremely hard. Provided no practice exams or questions to go through. She also would test on specific information from research studies. The short answers due every week were graded harshly and brought down your grade. Overall do not take her, take any other professor for this class.

Addington runs a fair introductory psych course. Two lectures, weekly quizzes and weekly short-answer questions, four non-cumulative exams. Lectures can be quite dry, but pay attention and read the book, you'll get an easy A. 15 extra credit points are offered on top of the 300 point course load through extra quizzes and online research studies

Addington was hands down the worst professor I have ever had. If you can take psych 202 with anyone else, please do. Exams were given on topics never covered, and the lectures were read directly off slides. She only used examples pertaining to her career of dog training, which was irrelevant and not helpful. Please save yourself while you can

The first test of the year I studied so so so hard and got an A. Then it went downhill from there. Tests are hard despite studying and lectures are boring and straight off the slides. Homework was graded hard with no explanations as to why. The 4 tests basically make up your grade and the homework has a bigger impact that perceived which was tough

Addington is extremely frustrating as she constantly over promises and under delivers. She's slow to grade exams (all scantron) and the grading for short essays is tough. You only get credit on weekly quizzes for 100% but some questions were worded awfully. Tests were easy, basically just her lecture slides, and lots of XC so an A wasn't that hard.

Overall this class was made very difficult. Our short essays were more difficult and graded harder bringing your grade down on what should be an easy assignment. No practice tests or materials were given besides a study guide. The lectures are recorded but we often had to go over material that was supposed to be in the lecture on our own.

She's clearly a really nice person and knowledgable in her field. She spends lots of time going over the background of psychology studies for the stats tests which may be helpful for some, but I found it redundant. As someone who took stats before, this was an easy class.

the person below me is literally addington on an alt account or just lying for no reason. her lectures are atrocious and you literally cannot get an A for just remembering all the terms and not attending class. we are always behind on lectures for no reason and we never even covered all the material.

She is a fine lecturer, I disagree with all of the negative comments about her. I didn't go to lecture, just memorized the terms from the slides and got an A. You can't blame the professor for your bad grade if she gives you everything you need to succeed. There are 3 exams and none of them are cumulative.

Lecture is a waste of time as she spends half of it talking about dogs instead of stats. You have to learn everything on your own. I took AP Stats so I knew all the content but still barely passing because of the complex questions and grading. Grade is HEAVY!! on exams. Even more than my calc class. If you fail an exam, prepare to fail the class.

While Addington isn't the best lecturer (gets off track, has made us behind, bit disorganized, etc.) her class is very possible- going to lecture and her exam reviews are KEY to doing well- take notes on ALL her examples! Her exam questions are mainly specific scenarios she talks about in lecture. Don't bother w/ readings except for exam review Q's

she doesnt use an oxford comma. enough said.

never ever take her for psych 202 please. tests are ridiculously difficult for no reason and it is just hard to get retain information from her atrocious lectures. we have never been on track for her lectures due to her poorly adjusted schedules and are always covering topics from the lecture before. also, the TA does not care about your grade!!!

Can't ever stay on topic, I don't think we have ever gotten through a full set of slides in class because she'd rather talk about dogs than teach. Takes at least a week or two to reply to emails, and sometimes doesn't show up to her own office hours w/out notice. She makes the class and passing 3x harder than it should be, dont take her classes.

While I am very interested in psychology, Addington just reads straight off of the slides and makes it hard to actually understand the material that way. Also, she ALWAYS says she will upload something or email us something over the weekend and NEVER does - I'd get if it was once, but it's like every week. This class is not the worst I guess.

She posts the lectures online so they are nice to review and attendance isn't mandatory. But we often were very behind other classes in lectures which made tests more difficult because we were cramming important information right before the exam. The TAs grade the short essays very hard and have a very strict rubric.

The lectures were long and boring. Grade is based on three exams and weekly homework assignments. Exams are heavily based on lectures I recommend taking this class online over the summer if math isn't your strong suit. Addington is really nice though but if the teaching style doesn't work for you, don't take the class.

As someone who took AP psych in high school, I had a hard time with her class. I understood the material overall, but the exams were so poorly written and difficult to understand that it hindered my ability to do well. I went to all her exam review sessions, 90% of her classes and still only ended with a C.

Do not take this class if you are an average student. It was unnecessarily hard, and there is no extra credit, or room to increase your grade. The class is also very long and you mostly have to teach yourself the material.

The class is very straightforward and Addington provides everything you need to know for the test in lecture. The exams are pretty easy as long as you memorized the definitions given in class. The only thing that is difficult is the short essays since they are graded harshly.

very boring class with very difficult exams and an even more disappointing curve

The four exams determine your grade. My grade fell from a B to a BC just because of the final exam, and my grade is non-negotiable. I even spent hours doing extra credit research studies and I still received a BC. I always studied hard for the exams and I perform well academically in other classes, however, this class has been a disaster.

Her lectures are very boring, tests aren't easy, and short essay questions are graded harshly for an intro level course.

She is a good lecturer; I found her pretty funny and easy to listen to. She can be tough at times and is straightforward. The slides have all of the information for the exams. It is easy to know what the material on the exam will be.

Dr. Addington was overall an okay professor. Her exams were not a complete reflection of the material and were often difficult to prepare for. She would teach straight from the slides and found that you would be better off just reading them.

Addington just read off slides the entire time and was unengaging. She does bring her dog to class which was cool but that was only twice. The main problem I had with Addington is that compared to my friends tests with other professors, hers were unusually difficult. She would always throw in like 4 questions that were never touched on in class.

Prof. Addington literally read slides the entire class and then gave a test that was too long for the allotted time period. Worst teacher I have had in a long time.

Great person, is very nice, but the exams are extremely specific. Attention to lectures is very important but she does record lectures.

She covers a lot of material each lecture so it is super important that you go to lecture or watch the recordings in depth and take good notes. About 85% of the exam questions are from lecture and make sure to answer all the questions on the exam review sheet, they are extremely helpful. She is super understanding and helpful if you need help.

Addington is a solid professor. Lectures are all slides and her explaining them (posts recordings online). 4 midterms are brutal/wordy (YOU WILL DO BAD ON THE FIRST ONE). You need to listen to recordings or go to lectures, understand the information, skim the textbook, and be able to apply concepts for exams. Do study guides. Extra credit carries.

Very understanding teacher. Class was interesting and she posted the lectures on the canvas page. So if you missed a class or wanted to review you could just go back and see all the lectures. Before exams I would just go back and watch the lectures again. Great teacher.

Prof. Addington's lectures are quite monotone and hard to sit through at times. Her exams were too long for the given timeframe, many students did not finish by the end of the exam period. The lack of lecture recordings made studying much more difficult. Homework is turned in at the Psych building, so be prepared to walk. Not tech friendly.

Lectures were average and was just professor Addington reading off the slides. I found the best way to study was to review the questions she gave on study guides (I gave up on reading the textbook and looked up book review questions.) Do extra credit, roughly 85% of AB's got bumped to an A because of it. She brings her dog to class which is cool.

Professor Addington is a really interesting lecturer that shows enthusiasm during lectures. Although the textbook involves a lot of reading, the information was broken down more simply through different categories and videos during the lectures.

I just didn't like her class.

Whoever is saying she is a good professor is lying to you. You is absolutely terrible. She gives no help whatsoever in lecture and all questions on the exam come from the textbook. Do NOT take her class ever.

Becky was overall okay. Had a strict grading TA. She recorded lectures but I still went to almost all of them. Not very lenient on accommodations. Lots and lots of info but the exams were relatively easy if you studied and put effort into the class.

Lectures consisted of her reading the PowerPoints almost word for word, but the good thing is the lectures were recorded. Exams are a big part of her grading system. Reading the textbook is a must.

Addington had really really hard tests. To get a passing grade on the exams, I had to know the textbook inside and out. Much of what you are tested on you have to learn yourself by reading the textbook. Work load was pretty light but the readings take a long time. Don't make the mistake I did by taking Psych 202 with her.

Her lectures were recorded by sometimes a bit rambling. She got behind in my section multiple times and had us try and catch up by watching lectures from her other section which was a bit frustrating since our exam was almost a week before theirs. She's caring and understanding but her tests are pretty rough.

Besides seeing her dog, she's a good professor. However her 4 exams are brutal, 1 exam got a 23/60 but turn into 30 due curve. However after that I've been ranging from B to A. Just make sure to study the things she has in the study guide, extra credit carries. And TA sucks for short essay. Beware of trap answers, make sure you read it throughly

Tests are all application based which is harder but she has lots of resources to help your grade including extra credit opportunities and she records all of her lectures which is really nice. Her powerpoints are a bit scattered but overall I think she's a totally decent and fair teacher and I'm not sure why people dislike her class.

Very kind and accommodating. Brings her dog to class sometimes. Great psych professor

her lectures were a waste of time. literally just read the book while looking at her notes posted and you'll be fine. and 2nd, her exams are absolutely just random and worded poorly. even if you know something the exam will find a loophole. If you don't have to take her, then don't. save yourself before its too late... also her dog smells

I had to study about 20 hours per exam in this class. I thought this was normal for Psych 202 at Madison, but other professors are apparently a lot easier. Take it with another professor!!

No point in going to lectures because she just reads off the slides. Only go to lecture if you wanna catch the 1-2 sentences she adds to a topic that somehow end up as a test question. Class seems unnecessary hard.

I already took this class in high school and I put in the effort (showed up to lecture, read the textbook, etc.) but her test and quiz questions tended to be worded in an odd way where I would get questions wrong even if I knew the material. Lectures weren't incredibly helpful as she would read word for word off of her posted slides

Her lectures were so boring and unnecessarily long. It was a struggle to get through her class.

I liked Addington. She is very knowledgable on psych and I liked what I was learning. The first test is really hard but after that it gets easier because there is less material on the exams. She posts all of them online which is nice. The extra credit saved me. She also brings in her dog to class a few times which was really cute.

I was looking forward to taking Professor Addington's class because I had heard good things about her. However, I could NOT sit through her lectures. She rambled on and on about example context rather than just teaching. I also feel like I got absolutely nothing from her lectures and only learned from lab.

I really enjoyed this class! Her notes and slides were great and easy to follow, she even brought in her dog for demos on specific topics. She made learning psychology a lot more personal and fun! She also allows extra credit by participating in online studies which is very helpful!

Definitely recommend any other professor that is available for your semester. Her lectures are very content heavy and exams + weekly homework carry all the points of the class; we had a small coding project at the end of the semester also. Teaching style is dry and straightforward, but she mentions dogs in almost all lectures which helps. a little

Class was honestly kinda hard. The entire class and grading is total points based and just the final exam alone takes up almost 40% of the points. But if you go to lectures and try to engage and take quality notes you will probably do really good.

Prof Addington's class is a good choice if you're looking for a chill capstone. She brings in her dog a few times and cover some pretty interesting topics. Just small weekly assignments and one big paper due at the end. No exams, a bit of reading but they're usually pretty reasonable.

A truly amazing teacher! She is very caring about her students and is quite accomodating. The class is relatively easy, just a little extra bit of reading than usual, and projects and papers are straightforward. Lectures and content are fascinating and she keeps things interesting. The project was really fun to do! Highly recommend!

Professor Addington had helpful lectures and was readily available to help outside of class. Her review sessions were also great. However, there were several times where we had to learn new chapters of information just days before a test which was stressful. Overall a tough class, but Professor Addington is helpful.

Becky explained the concepts very well in her lectures. She went at a slow/medium pace so everyone could follow along. The homework was helpful but the tests were pretty difficult. You definitely have to work hard for an A.

I really enjoyed Prof Addington! She is super sweet and does a really great job explaining both the mathematical and conceptual sides of the topics. The homeworks are really beneficial to understanding and your grade. The tests were closed note (but with a provided formula sheet) so you definitely needed to know the stuff pretty well to do good

Addington has a very clear, well paced lecture style, it's very refreshing, she is also always available for help. Using the review questions in the the textbook for exams is KEY. It is difficult stuff, but an A is very attainable if you put in time to study. Use textbook to enhance learning, not 100% necessary.

She talks more about dogs than statistics.

Addington is clearly passionate about statistics and psych. That being said, her teaching style is really all over the place. It can be scrambled and confusing sometimes when she's explaining things. If you skip a lecture, you'll really have to work hard to catch up. Honestly was not a fan of her class/teaching.

During the in-person portion of the class, she was always available to chat after the lecture if I had questions and responsive to emails. Her lectures are dense but very helpful in understanding the concepts-- very accessible. The switch to online lectures was difficult-- lectures were not timely and were rather long. But she was great in-person

THE MOST UN-ENGAGING TEACHER IVE EVER HAD. She literally went missing for a whole week during online classes and didn't give her students an update until the last day of instruction and gave us 4 hours of lecture to watch. Canvas pages were messy and she's a professor that sets her students up to fail right when you walk in the room on day 1. AWFUL

I had this class during the whole virus incident, so I can understand the difficulties of teaching in these circumstance. Even so, before as well as in the pandemic she was of little help. The canvas page is messy. She does not give depth and does the bare minimum in explaining the steps it takes to figure out answers.

I am genuinely so disappointed in my overall experience with Prof. Addington. Upon meeting her in lecture I got the impression that she genuinely wanted her students to succeed. However I was very mistaken. The exams were not attainable and had an incredibly low average. Her tests were very unfair which ultimately reflect how poor of a prof she is.

Her lectures are very disorganized and it's difficult to catch up with the material if you have to miss class. She will take 30 minutes each class to either talk about her dogs, or explain an extremely simple concept like range. However, she will speed past a difficult concept in five minutes. Doesn't really care about the success of her students.

Literally my least favorite professor I've ever had, does not teach the subject matter, her lecture notes are useless. Avoid Psych 210 at all costs. Does like to talk about her dogs alot tho. I'm not math inclined so I spent a significant amount of time at office hours, was not helpful at all. Also weekly homework sucks, take Stats 371 instead.
