I thought she was very unhelpful as a professor. For the course project (group project), she would give feedback, we'd make changes accordingly, and then we would get an even worse grade on the next deliverable. She also accused my team of using AI to write our report when we did not. Her grading was very difficult and felt unfair.

Awful professor

I genuinely enjoyed having her as a professor. Gave 100% on all class activities and truly does care about the subject. Exams are harder than past semesters and definitely not an easy A. Math and physics were present and probably should've been presented better for those who didn't learn prior to class. Might be too elementary of a class for her.

Dr. Mehta is the worst teacher I have ever seen in college. Her slides are hard to understand, she doesn't explain all the content, some of it needs to be read by yourself. Her exams will have some strange theories, you need to review 100% of the content to notice it. Avoid her, Avoid her, Avoid her!!!

I believe Dr. Mehta is an expert in Human Factors, but she is really a poor lecturer. She seems disengaged from teaching. The lack of homework makes exams hard to prepare for and her slides are very rough, missing answers for examples. Exams are difficult too. While the TA and Co-Teacher are kind and helpful, I wouldn't recommend taking her class.

Avoid her. Avoid her. Avoid her.

REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD COURSE

Actually the worst prof. For a class cross listed as psych, there was almost no psych involved. The class was heavily focused on math/physics/statistics problems but with no examples and definitely no solutions given. If she gave sols, they were often wrong. Her lecture slides are awful and she seems to dislike her students. Avoid if you can

This class is disorganized, with many workout problem solutions never posted and those posted not reliable and needing corrections. Beware of the math and physics component in this course. The main reason behind my one is the poor structure, psych majors can even take the lab section, it's an essential part of this course if you want to succeed.

Worst professor I've ever had in ISYE. Class is inaccurately listed as psych/engineering, but the psych aspect was completely neglected on the final exam (fingers crossed for you psych majors). No practice problems given, and she had a very rude attitude toward students. Avoid if possible—teaching quality and organization were severely lacking.

zont zoo it girl I am a senior psych major who signed up for Psych 349: Human Factors to learn about the how systems are created to support the needs of people. Instead, I got an engineering class with a prof who didn't come to multiple lectures and assigns application problems without practicing or having examples given. AVOID HER PLS

Overall an effective instructor with deep knowledge of course material. There are only two tests in total, which is a problem for many people in the course, but we are clearly taught all the material beforehand. The emphasis is on a mix of psychology and statistics/math which is beneficial for applying the class to later courses and jobs.

Poor class structure. Doesn't do examples ahead of time, often has wrong answers. Emphasizes application of info, but is making us memorize half the course concepts on the final since she doesn't like notesheets. Changed topics to include statics in a course with psych majors Average will likely be a letter grade or more below past sems. Avoid her.

Worst professor I've had in any department. Teaches physics and stats material that isn't taught in other semesters. Cares about application yet has fill in the blank sections on her exams. Graded on 25% midterm, 25% final, 50% class assignments. For exercises in class, doesn't prepare solution beforehand and relies on us to give her calculations.

Horrible professor. Do not take. Seems like she wants her students to fail. I was excited to learn Psych and Human factors, and she has ruined that. Awful representation of the Industrial Engineering program at UW. If she's teaching a course, you should look to do it another semester. Only positive of this course is her Lab Assistant Aakash.

This professor has turned what could be an interesting topic of human factors and completely RUINED IT. Her in class activities are worth 50% of the overall grade, but are given throughout the semester at random. This class is cross referenced as a psych class, yet the last chapters involve statics and physics. Avoid this professor at all costs.

No outside of class homework which makes it very hard to learn and memorize content. Class structure overall is horrible. Told our class that she is a HUGE fan of application and not memorization and then proceeded to give us a list of tons of rules for a note sheet including font size, margins and line spacing. Worst prof I've had in any dept.

Dr Mehta is by far the worst professor I have had at UW. Attendance isn't mandatory however Dr. Mehta will randomly have "Class Activities" during class time worth 50% of student's grades with no notice beforehand. Dr. Mehta was also quite unresponsive with emails and generally seemed uninterested in teaching this course. Choose another prof.

Information posted was incorrect. Assignments had no instructions or rubrics. Feedback was subjective. She sent some students emails saying they didn't understand the material and should speak less during discussion. One class she was on a trip and didn't attend class (it was the same as when she was there).
