Good professor. He has a lot of stories. Be prepared and pay attention in class then you'll enjoy this class. Attendance is mandatory btw.

Take the class! Mr. Davis is a very smart man and really opened my eyes up to things. He may be tough, but once he is your teacher.. you are forever his student. At the start of the class i didn't like him that much, but he really grew on me and he taught me to be an intentive student and i changed my views on a lot of things.

I have mixed feelings about him. On one hand, he's a fascinating guy - famous jazz musician, fighter of racism, great stories, really looks out for you. On the other hand - when I took a class from him he was known for making people leave for things like bouncing their leg or not looking "attentive enough". Things can get tense, fast.

Interesting material and an interesting guy. He has all the experience and stories in the world. However, you never know when he is going to yell at you or everyone in the class. The class has a very tense feeling because of his behavior. So, despite the easyness of the class, I recommend that you do not take a class from this professor.

He's great until he starts using lecture as a soapbox to push his own agenda, like telling us to boycott UBS. He dicusses racism a lot, and in a manner in which most people aren't used to, so be prepared and open-minded. Make sure you know what you are talking about before you speak; there's no BS-ing. You'll either love him and hate him.
