About this rating

Raw average: 2.44/5 from 36 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Dr. Chang has mostly bad reviews only because he is a wake-up call for students toward what the field of genetics is really like. He weeds out the wannabes and the actually motivated. He also prepares you thoroughly for med school. In that sense, he is a gift from the gods. Welcome to college.

Obviously you do need to put some effort on Chang's GEN466 class, but it's a passable course. The only thing I did not like about Chang is that his PowerPoints can be unclear. However, I managed to pass his course with an A- grade. This is because I devoted myself to the material being taught, and managed to attend all classes.
