For a two credit class it was pretty difficult. The information was very interesting and the professors were knowledgeable but taught sometimes as if we were pharmacy students with background in the topics. The fast pace lectures could be hard to follow but were also posted online. Beware of very specific questions on exams, though some weren't bad
A great overview of pharmacology, medications, and common conditions many people will understand. The lectures are presented by several professors, so getting used to the differing lecture styles was difficult. I never felt like I did not know what to expect on exams; they were always on the content converted in lecture, and sometimes very specific
Inflexible and very difficult to communicate with.
Professor Marker is knowledgable, but really just reads off the slides. All professors for this course read off slides and go way more in-depth than necessary to do well on exams. If you actually wanted to understand the material you'd have to have a science background. Overall an easy science credit and interesting material.
This class is taught by 2 professors. Paul is kind of boring and his lecture style is dry. This is a basic pharm sci class. Mostly memorizing how drugs work in the body and what the body does with these drugs (receptors, side effetcs, etc). 3 exams which were a little tough & 5 very easy quizzes online, that's it. No tetbook or writting papers.
He goes through slides way too fast to take notes. You must copy them from online, and memorize everything in them. Straightforward exams if you know all the slides, but you do have to study/memorize a large quantity of information for a 2 cr class. Can easily get an A with effort though.
Reads straight from his notes/slides. Going to class is not necessary. Tests are taken right off of notes
Goes way too fast in lecture. Impossible to keep up. However exams are fair and obviously very proficient in his field.
Has over 30 slides per lecture each with at least a paragraph worth of information. Reads directly from the slides, does not clarify any information, and then speeds up as the lecture continues. No point to go to lecture since he talks so fast. Problem is he never puts on lecture capture so the first 20 minutes are chopped out. Wouldn't recommend.
Speeds through lectures with paragraphs on each slide. We went through 27 slides in 45 minutes, slides are provided online but will also "check your attendance" by giving an answer on the test in a lecture and removing it from the online content. Too much effort is necessary for it to be a 2 credit class. Not recommended as a professor.
He goes way too fast through lectures and no information can be absorbed. He does not check to see if the class understands and will often finish the 50 minute lecture early because he goes so quickly through things. Personally, I would rather spend more time learning in class than out of it. Definitely would not recommend him as a professor.
Great lectures. They were clear and easy to understand. Also there are no tricks on any of the exams, if you go to lecture and study you will do well. Plus, it is very obvious that he cares about what you take away from the class.
