Absolutely love this professor! He's the BEST. (side note: if you need to take anatomy 337/338, TAKE KINES 127 BEFORE!! It has helped me so so much. And then when you take 127, actually learn the anatomy and material WELL, and this will prepare your for anatomy 337/338)
This class is incredibly difficult, but Dr. Hills-Meyer is a good professor. I found his lectures to be engaging and understandable. Expect to be spending large amounts of time prepping and studying for this class as the exams for this class were very specific and very difficult.
This class really is bad. Lectures go like this: "Here are dozens of terms to know. Memorize them." Exams are unreleased so unless you schedule a specific time to go in, you don't get to see what you did wrong on the test. Tests are shockingly specific and one line from the textbook is worthy of a test question. At least he's funny... Avoid it.
hard class, but if you put in the work it is manageable. sometimes he doesn't finish his lectures, and he refers to videos outside of the class "watch this video ___" which kind of sucks because we should be taught that in class. very name professor and genuinely cares for his student.
Dr. Hills-Meyer is by far the best professor I have had at UW. He cares about students and wants you to succeed. I enjoyed his lectures. I HIGHLY recommend going to his office hours. I learned the most from office hours, and he explains things even better there. Class is tough, have to put in a lot of work for an A, definitely worth it.
Dr. Hills-Meyer is not only a great professor but also a great person. The class (Anat 337) is a challenging course, but he makes it possible to succeed (and not even need to take the final to get the grade you want). He posts lots of resources and is helpful in navigating study tools, and overall, wants his students to suceed.
Prof HM is a great lecturer who genuinely cares about his students. He tends to run out of time for his lectures, but he always posts the extra content on the daily page after. If you want to do well, he is always available or gives you an array of resources you can use. Go to the lectures since there is always extra info he elaborates on.
Honestly a pretty terrible lecturer. You come to lecture for him to go through the slides saying "Watch this in the video" and pointing out things to pay extra attention to when you watch the videos. I feel like this sort of thing could be sent out in an email so we can spend lecture time actually learning. Huge waste of my time.
It is too bad that Pat does not teach anat by himself. He gave good lectures and helped to apply the concepts in new and memorable ways. He was always available to students and understood how we thought about things and knew that the course was a difficult one. Highly recommend this guy!
This class has been the hardest class I have ever taken here at UW, but very valuable and learned so much. You NEED to study in order to pass, you CANNOT just get by. There is no curves, nothing. Join PLT and attend optional discussion review. I am a humble pre-nursing major and needed a good grade in order to apply to the Nursing School.
The content in this class is very interesting. And it is not hard to get an A. However, it felt like Hills-Meyer didn't teach anything. He mostly read off of his slides or notes, rushing through them before we had a chance to write anything down. Most of the time you're teaching yourself. He is occasionally funny, I'll give him that.
Whenever he lectured I left feeling more confused and overwhelmed as he puts up slides with 10+ terms and says "you should know this" and skips the slide without explaining it. Felt like a waste of time to go to lecture when he was there because most of the time he would speed through and then make us watch video recordings of what he didn't get to
His stories made the class more entertaining. Very nice guy who cares about the subject. Join a PLT and attend the review sessions. This class is virtually all memorization-ESPECIALLY for the muscle unit. Do a lot of studying early on for that one and categorize!!! I studied 30+ hours for it and it still was the hardest test Ive ever taken.
Patrick was a far better lecturer than Julie. He made the material very interesting, funny, and did his best to make the material easy to understand. He often runs out of time and you still need to know the last slides no matter what he says. The class is VERY hard, but I am but a humble nursing major. The pre med kids seemed to think it was easy.
This class was insanely hard and WAYY more work than 3 credits. With that said, Dr. Hills-Meyer was charismatic and went the extra mile to make sure students had the resources they needed to succeed.
I don't think he ever managed to finish a lecture on time ever. That being said, he is very funny and much better at explaining than Dr. Stamm. He is willing to answer any questions you have and is up front with you that anatomy is a HARD class. Review everyday.
His humor helps make class not so boring! Although, he struggles to fit everything into one lecture and towards the end powers through the remaining slides & says not to worry about that info, but you need to know it! Study a lot from the beginning & use the first exam to start off with a high grade, it'll help. Categorize/make lists to study!
Pat's probably my favorite instructor I've had in college. He has a ton of hilarious stories about his job that really add to the class. The class isn't hard and he presents the information really well. Three exams, "final" is really just the third exam material which we took on the last day of class. Best class ever, Pat is the man
Pat has been my favorite professor by far. He is a funny guy who looks to make connections with his students and help them succeed. He offers real-world insight into the profession of Athletic Training and is a great resource for anyone applying to the AT Program. Go to lectures, it's worth it to hear his stories.
Pat is a great guy. He has some lengthy lectures but is fun, overall. He's funny and sometimes came off a bit harsh, just know he is joking. He wants you to appreciate the content, so show your interest. Do well on the labs and exam. Exam was tough because there's so much info. Unclear what to specifically study. Final was an easy project
Great professor and a great guy. Loved the class.
Awesome teacher, very funny, very helpful. He keeps your attention and class is never boring. One of my favorite teachers at madison
