Priya is an awesome professor. The content can be hard but she makes it accessible. She's helpful in office hours and I think a learned a lot in this class.
I had a really good experience with Prof. Mukherjee. She's very approachable and helpful outside of class as well. Sometimes it may feel as if the lectures are slightly slow, but it's mostly cause she uses real research to help explain the theory better. Overall, probably the best professor I've had in my 2 years so far.
AAE/ECON 471 - Very slow grader. We had a TA, she said she doesn't always get one though. In that situation, I can't imagine how slow the grading is. Tests aren't necessarily hard, but grading is strict. Miss one word/phrase and you're losing a lot of points.
AAE474 Very unorganized, unclear, and a boring lecturer. Going to lecture is pointless as she rambles on and only discusses important material 1/3 of the time. Exams were easy, but problem sets had long readings that did not have anything to do with what we talked about in class. She is accessible in office hours, which is helpful for problem sets.
she has a PhD in being a boring lecturer but the class is very simple and the assignments and exams are not difficult, everything comes straight out of the slides
I'm not an econ manor so this part of the class was all new to me, but the professor's explanations in lectures are very clear. She's helpful in office hours, but I wish the TA was as nice. She clearly has tons of real world research experience in other countries which is awesome.
She was awful. Unclear instructions for all assignments, exams were unorganized. The entire class was all over the place. 0/10 would never take again. TA was also horrible and did not know what was going on or what the class was about.
Prof. Mukherjee is so sweet and is really passionate about the material. If you go to class and study, you will be fine. Tests were not bad. Overall a really good professor
The content in this section of the course was pretty easy as someone who's taken economics courses in the past & for anyone who hasn't, it should be okay too. There are 4 short assignments that are (I think) meant to be easy, but I did worse on those than the exams, mainly because the rubrics were unclear & the TA took off points for minor mistakes
Be ready to feel stupid because she acts like her students are stupid. This class could be so interesting but she just repeats herself.
Lectures were not very engaging and content was fairly self-explanatory, canvas course was unorganized, gave unclear grading instructions to TAs so an A in one section was a B- in another which was frustrating.
Professor Mukherjee taught the 2nd half of World Hunger and Malnutrition. I found her Canvas modules to be unorganized and expectations for the course to be unclear. Her lectures weren't very engaging. She seems nice, I just didn't think she was a good professor.
She taught the second half of this class, which was mainly very basic economics. Seemed knowledgeable in her field. If you watched her lectures you'll pass.
