I took her STAT 333, 310, 424 in a row. She's one of the most patient and accessible professors in the department. Lectures are clear and notes are super helpful. Exams can be quite difficult and long, but grading is fair and generous. Practice exams are available. I've learned a lot from her classes but it did require some hard work.Rate My Professors ↗
She knows a lot, but not a good lecturer. hard to follow during class and do not consider the fact that students may have different background knowledge. Definitely will not take again. The workload is very heavy, exam average lower than 60Rate My Professors ↗
Tells jokes sometimes, but does not make up for the difficulty of her class. You will not know your grade until the day you get your final exam back as the whole class is curved at the end. Goes over derivations even though they are not needed for the exam (inefficient use of lecture). Makes tests and class extremely difficult on purpose. HEADACHE!Rate My Professors ↗
Pixu is a very nice person but thats it. I think she should provide clearer guidance on what she expects from us and she is not very responsive to emails and in piazza. The extremely long exams are almost impossible to finish in the given time so I dont see the point of giving so many questions if she doesnt expect us to finish (her words).Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Shi really tries to make you understand and she would stop and repeat explanations when she thinks you are confused. Lectures are very useful. Workload could be pretty heavy. Expect to spent hours on homework and projects.Rate My Professors ↗
i really cannot follow her. I have her two classes, 310 and 333. The things she explains are really difficult to understand. The exams are really difficult, which is harder than practice exams. She is very nice and tries to do her best to help students, but nothing helps. What I learned from her classes is to remember formulas. Will not take again.Rate My Professors ↗
