Professor Barrett has easily been one of my favorite instructors at UW. His lectures are interesting and class is structured to get you to engage with other students and really learn the material. There is a lot of weekly reading and writing assignments, but as long as you make an effort to engage with the material, you'll do well.

Probably 6-7 hours of reading per week. Entire grade based on 2x weekly written reactions to the readings, so you have to do them. If you do the work, it's an easy A, and most of the material is interesting. Lectures are interesting, but can be ideologically slanted. Prof is responsive and understanding to any issues/concerns.

Professor Barrett is an excellent professor,. He assigns a lot of reading but it's manageable. The only way one would not get an A with this professor is if they did not do the homework. Professor Barrett's main concern is that you're engaging with the course material, so as long as you do the work you'll pass easily
