About this rating

Raw average: 3.66/5 from 32 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

He is a very knowledgable guy and very unbiased especially with such a hard to teach topic. A lot and I mean A LOT of reading, (sometimes 100 pages a week) but if you are motivated to learn about the topic, none of the reading is irrelevant. Gives weekly timed quizzes based on reading. I learned a lot though

Prof. Shelef is obviously very intelligent and well-informed about current events as well as the realities of the political world. Did an exceptional job of presenting all political systems' pros and cons (read: didn't try to sway you one way or another). Lectures were super informational and Shelef has a witty sense of humor.

Professor Shelef is extremely intelligent and informed about Israeli Politics. I felt that I gained a comprehensive understanding of their government and how it has come to be. The simulation at the end was very useful and a fun way to put what we learned into practice. He was very caring towards his students.

I enjoyed Professor Shelef's lecture and found his class to be very interesting and engaging. He was very clear about what we needed to know and helped us understand what was going to be tested. He always took questions during his lecture and helped to make sure everyone understood the material. Overall, a very good class.

I liked Professor Shelef's class. There is a lot of material to go through and it is heavy reading but if you put in work, you can get a good grade. Discussion sections are really helpful too. He teaches well.

He is incredibly knowledgeable. I've never taken a professor that knew more about his field. His lectures are interesting and unbiased. He answers questions at the beginning of every class. It's not an easy class, but not too tough for a 600 level course either. I can't recommend him enough
