The class I took was very introductory and I think anyone could get an A if they wanted to. All lectures were streamed, and then avaliable as a video later (although sometimes he's bad at posting these). It's hard to know what to take notes on but there's no final and only one assingment a week. He's very knowledgable.

Professor Robertson is very lecture and test heavy. You have 7 quizzes throughout the semester that make up almost your whole grade and everything on the quiz is supposedly from the lecture. If you miss lecture your quiz grade will drop dramatically and stuff is only covered once, so you'll miss half the quiz questions making it hard to get an A.

Robertson seems like a good guy and knowledgeable in his field, but, this class was just mid. The test questions are worded poorly and are so confusing and ambiguous, that I would fail them even though I paid extremely good attention in class and am otherwise a 4.0 student. My grade in calc 2 was way higher than this class, if that says anything.

He is incredibly knowledgeable and adds some humor to lectures. GEOG439 was one of the most interesting classes I've taken. I learned SO MUCH but that came from the heavy time commitment of reading and assignments. With how he structures the class you get out what you put into it. Flexible with assignment extensions and helpful to talk to!

Dr. Robertson is very hard to reach outside of class, uses slides and readings that are 10+ years old, and assigns many assignments that end up just being busywork. This course content is really fascinating, and he is very knowledgeable but I would only recommend if you are interested enough to outweigh the organizational issues with this course.

Easy class. Knowledgeable prof, interesting lectures.

I loved this class. It was a bit disorganized (he was restructuring the course while teaching), but the lectures are fascinating and use examples and case studies to explain current issues. Be ready to take notes on lectures, because the quizzes are directly from that content and are very specific. Lectures are recorded, but you must watch them.

Lectures are extremely disorganized and confusing and professor literally rambles and makes no sense. Would not recommend

Robertson seems like a decent human, but his lectures are extremely boring and monotone. He kind of just rambles on. The reason that I wouldn't recommend: Extremely disorganized (in general, especially Canvas, assignments, syllabus). He isn't the worst, but I can't recommend. Just be ready for the messiness.

We call him professor forgetful. He comes to class unprepared quite often. Tries to accommodate everyone with online lectures but technical skills are not his strong suit.

lectures were streamed as well as pre recorded if you missed anything, you definitely need to take notes more on what he says to be prepared for quizzes, weekly assignments were the main focus of discussion as well as some review of the lectures

Very chill class. You can literally watch all the lectures whenever you want since it's all posted

GEOG 139 was an easy class. Tests were online and based on lectures; however, Prof. Robertson gave more than enough time to complete them. Lectures were also pre-recorded, which was nice considering they often got dull. Robertson's incredibly knowledgeable but didn't come across as especially interested in teaching an intro-level course.

Professor Robertson is average. His lectures are quite mind-numbing, but quizzes are often about very specific things he briefly mentions. Notes aren't the easiest to take since most of his presentations are images. Although he is caring and flexible (streams all lectures over zoom), I do not recommend this class. Take ENVIR ST 112 instead!

He loves his material and really cares about students success. I really appreciated how accommodating he was and it is easy to do well in his class. If youre looking to fill a humanities credit I highly recommend

There were not a ton of assignments for this class which was nice. However, discussions were mandatory and were pretty uninteresting. The quizzes were pretty tedious and were often on specific topics very briefly discussed in lecture so make sure you pay attention. Dr. Robertson is very intelligent and has really cool prior experience in the field

Professor Robertson was an okay professor for in-person classes, but the transition to online classes did not go well. He did not hold class or post online lectures at all after the pandemic started. The class was very easy though and he was pretty lenient after we were sent home. If you do your work on time you shouldn't have any issues.

Professor Robertson was a very good professor for this course. He has a lot of experience in this area and really cares about learning and discussion over everything. He extended deadlines for anyone who asks, was super caring about exceptions and would even let you redo assignments if your grade wasn't what you expected. Very interesting class.

Morgan was a good professor and the class wasn't too difficult. He assigns a lot of reading, but you don't have to read all of it to get a good grade on the reading assignments. Overall, I would recommend the class as he gives interesting lectures.

Go to lectures, and you'll pass. Exams are easy.

Robertson is very knowledgable and loves what he does. It was super helpful that he puts all of his lectures online in the beginning of the unit/study guide so you know what to look for in lecture. His tests weren't the easiest, but if you study enough and take good notes you'll be good. Weekly readings and write ups for discussion

Professor Robertson gives interesting lectures that seemed scattered at times. Slides are posted online, along with outlines for each of the three exams. Take decent notes and study a bit for the exam and you should do fine. Discussion had nothing to do with lecture. Weekly readings and short answer questions, but the material is interesting.

Dr. Robertson is a bit odd at times, he doesn't give any sort of intro at the start of lecture, he just jumps right in, and he seems a bit scatterbrained at times. But he is also a wonderful lecturer who has the rare gift to make a lecture with 200 people feel like a conversation, and an interesting one at that.

Intelligent man. Randomly took this course and found myself more interested in Geology. Attend lecture; exams are based solely what he says in class.

Very intelligent

the greatest lecturer

There's no textbook for GEO139, so make sure you show up and pay attention because the tests are on really specific things that he usually only mentions once, briefly, in lecture.
