Professor Thomas is a fantastic professor. He explains very difficult concepts well and his exams are very fair. They are challenging, but fair based on class material. I have struggled in this class, but he is very easy to talk to and explains concepts well when you need clarification.

Phenomenal professor, clearly an expert on the content. The material is fascinating and taught in a logical way, even though it is complex. The focus is on problem-solving and deep understanding using chemical logic, rather than surface-level memorizing. He tests very fairly. Going to office hours is a bit intimidating but well worth your time.

526 is a difficult class, but prof Thomas is a great lecturer. He goes through some topics kind of fast, but you start to get an idea of what's important (he'll repeat motifs throughout the lecture). You need to attend class, really study the content, and ask him questions to pass. Again, difficult class but good professor!

Hands down the best prof I have ever had at UW. Michael clearly wants his students to succeed & understand the material as much as possible. He's extremely understanding when it comes to students' needs/lives & is always willing to help one-on-one. 526 is very difficult, but he makes it bearable & interesting. HIGHLY recommend taking his class.

Great lecturer, great slides, tough class. I don't think I would have gotten an AB if it weren't for covid19 adjustments. I would recommend making friends and working and studying with them. It helps a lot for this class.

Great professor, fair grader. It's a tough class that requires effort, but if you do put in the effort you will be rewarded.

Great professor. Knowledgeable. Fair grader.

Michael T gives hard homework assignments and exams. They are doable if you go to class, ask questions, and study. He is also kind of intimidating. However, he does care about the success of his students and encourages you to ask questions and come to office hours. Very easy on the eyes.

Awesome professor. Great lectures. Worked in his lab and he was great. Handsome and aging like fine wine.

AWESOME teacher

Very nice guy. Go to the lectures cause the topics he talks about are what is tested. idk why most people skipped lectures, & i think they would have done better grade-wise if they went. take good notes in class.

He really knows how to teach well and gives you all the material you need to do well on tests. He is also really interesting and often likes to talk about new research on the frontier of microbiology. He is also very responsive to questions and very helpful in his office outside of class. I just wish I'd get teachers like him more often.

This guys knows how to teach. He provides clear explanations for all processes and pathways and provides all materials needed to do well. Questions the day before the exam and even allows extra credit points on Fridays for sending in confusing topics. Highly suggest taking his class if you like metabolism!
