Meg is so nice, this class is very interesting, highly recommended

Meg was a fun professor to have! She was able to take time to explain each of the five main units (Photoshop, GIFs, Video, 3D Modeling, and Coding) relatively well given the time she had. Heavy emphasis on exams though, but it is offset by your TA's making sure anyone with a pulse can pass those exams and the class as long as you turn stuff in.

She wasn't the best professor. Her lectures were very boring and not formatted the best, but the class is easy. It might take about 2 hours to do the projects (at least for me who never used any of the software), but it's a lot easier if you have prior experience. The hard part is just figuring out what you want to do and how to use the techniques.

ART107 is a relatively easy class, but you would succeed more if you had prior knowledge on coding and digital art. You only use PS for like 2-3 assignments and then get into difficult platforms that use a lot of battery/storage. The labs are pointless because all you do is work on assignments. I like Meg but don't recommend her

This was a great class to learn a little bit about a lot of digital tools. Some were pretty easy and some were way more difficult, but we didn't stay on any subject for too long. If you want to go deep into Photoshop, this isn't the class, but it's a good digital survey class if you're just starting. Exams are easy and the class was fun. Would rec!

Photoshop was only used for 2 assignments and then we got into difficult platforms. She barely went over the basics and began her examples were half finished. I have 4 project ungraded and the final is tomorrow. Along with that I emailed her about how my grades were 2 months behind, the email was ignored yet she emailed us about the exam.

If you do not know any about Ps, Pr, Coding, Rhino and 3D Printing, it'll be a tough class. You'll learn all these softwares by yourself which are really time-consuming. Grading is delayed so you won't have a chance to drop/swap it accoding to the grades of projects you recieve. The worst course I have though Meg is accessible outise class.

I fully recommend taking Art 107 even if you're not an art student. It's an easy class with great prompts and fun projects. Unfortunately, I felt while Meg has a lot of expertise on different software used in the class and on art history, her teaching habits are lazy and she doesn't go beyond giving a few examples in class. Overall kind of meh.

great lectures

I was expecting to just learn how to use photoshop, but the class really gets into art theory too.

Lots of tutorials, good examples in lecture. She's easy to reach by email.

Very approachable and willing to answer questions. I had a better time once I did the assigned tutorials in advance. She covers alot of material in class, and it's about advanced features of the software. Overall, the class is not super-easy at the start but is worth it.

Most unclear teacher I've ever had, only a teacher for her knowledge of the content, not her teaching ability as it is near inexistent. Incredibly quirky and has an act for making you feel uncomfortable. Barely teaches the programs and just expects you to figure them out. She constantly gets moody rude &frustrated when students don't understand her

A little disorganized, but once I did the practice exercises it made sense. There's alot of material for one semester. She expects you to learn the tools while also using them and gives good feedback on your project. Made me want to take more advanced classes next year.

Meg knows what she's doing, but nobody else does. Her projects could potentially be super cool, but she doesn't help you figure out the programs at all. Make use of online tutorials and expect to spend time outside of class crying over her projects if unfamiliar with the software. She grades easy, but her crits are brutal. Disrespectful to TA also.

Become familiar with Adobe programs and SketchUp before taking this class. (lynda.com) I think the pressure to read/demo new tutorials outside of class, was overwhelming for some. No one can learn a program and retain its features in an afternoon, plus make a cohesive design. Meg can be harsh on crit day, but is equally helpful if you ask questions

Meg knows her stuff, problem is she cannot communicate it clearly. Her syllabus did not apply because we were always behind or ahead- very disorganized class. Her quirkiness can be good or bad, bad when her personality gets in the way of being helpful without making you feel bad or incompetent.

Only take this class if you actually have an interest in the subject matter. Lots of people would not do any work outside of class and constantly blamed the teacher for not explaining things even when they did not attempt to do the outside work. There was lots of creative freedom in the class and deadlines were super lenient.

Meg was not the best at explaining how to use the programs she was teaching and was not always clear about what we were to do for assignments. It seems like she knows her stuff, just does not know how to communicate it to students who are unfamiliar with digital design, which made the class frustrating.

The lessons were structured well enough to follow, but she assumes that her students know more than they actually do. She's not that great at teaching a group, but is pretty helpful if you ask her questions. She is quite quirky and is very capable of making you feel uncomfortable. Overall, the class is easy IF you know your way around Adobe apps.
