Best professor ever! such a good dancer, too! Super understanding and caring when it comes to other class conflicts/injuries. offers extra credit. class is for anyone of any level and she makes everyone comfortable and confident. option to perform dances learned. you learn 3 dances throughout the semester. graded on participation and 1 rhythm quiz

Maya is amazing and the class is super awesome! If you are looking for some engaging workout this is the class to take! Very fun! You have to attend a class all the time since attendance is a majority of your grade.

This class is so fun and Maya is awesome. Definitely would recommend if you need one extra credit to fill out your schedule or are just looking for a fun class!

Awesome class. I have taken it twice now and tell all my friends to take it. It's a super fun, good stress-relief class that pretty much forces you to have a mandatory workout twice a week for a grade. Maya is great and it amazing (as a dancer and teacher), and I love the live drummers. 100% recommend taking this class to anyone.

I love Maya! This class was so wonderful, and she definitely allowed each student to get what they personally needed from it. If you're looking for an easy, relaxing, stress-relieving credit, this is it. Just show up and post on the discussion board and you should have no issues.

Take this class! It's incredibly fun, a great workout, and an amazing stress-reliever. You don't need any dance experience. You also get several opportunities to perform, which you should definitely take advantage of. Absolutely loved dancing with Maya.

Such a great teacher and a really fun, easy class! (Not to mention a great and unique workout!) Would definitely recommend!

African Dance is AWESOME. It is an amazing workout, super fun, and literally showing up to class is 80% of your grade (so easy A). You have to write a few 2-page opinion papers, but that's it. And Maya is super chill and not a tough grader at all. Totally recommend this class!!!
