I really enjoyed this class with Rita! She's incredibly knowledgeable, and we covered a wide range of topics. I took it out of interest and learned a lot, especially thanks to the excellent guest speakers. Her grading is fair, and exams are straightforward if you review the slides—no surprises, just pay attention and prepare.

She was nice, but had a lot of small text on slides. To make up for it, she posts slides with exactly what you need to know. Tests were pretty easy, and overall pretty easy class.

While this professor is a very great person and good lecturer, there are few things that make up the grade. She also graded a bit harshly on many of the quizzes and the two exams for many things that are largely opinion based, which I thought to be unfair.

Great professor and fun to listen to. Textbook not necessary and homework, quizzes and exams are easy. Don't necessarily NEED to show up for lectures but definitely recommend. Definitely take this course.

I love this class and the professor. The exams are easy if you go to class and she is very clear with grading expectations. Overall, really understanding and a great lecturer

Rita is the best! Her class is super interesting and all of the assignments/exams are very reasonable and fair.

Rita is amazing. She genuinely cares about her students' academic success and personal wellbeing. She will push you to build on your knowledge and make your work better, but she's flexible and works with everyone to make sure they are doing their personal best. Also very accessible outside of class.

I've had her twice now and she's definitely the best professor I've had in the department! She cares so much about her students succeeding and it shows. Very reasonable expectations, but she'll still challenge you and you'll learn a lot. She's super accessible outside of class if you need help. If you get the chance, take a class with her!

The quizzes are really picky, and if you say something that is right, but it isn't what she wants, you won't get credit. She is very knowledgeable about the topics, which is what makes this class more interesting when the material sometimes wasn't. Overall, great prof and would take her again. Extra Credit helps-it bumped my grade up significantly.

The lectures were overall interesting. The lectures gave the material that was on the exam, so the readings weren't really necessary. On the quizzes, she asks for specific terms. If those terms aren't in the answer, you won't get full credit. When I had an emergency and couldn't hand in an assignment, she wasn't very understanding about it.

Rita is very, very nice. One of the best professors I have had in the CSD department so far. You can tell she cares about her students and wants them to do well. There is a lot of material but it is well organized and easily accessible. However, the quizzes are really tricky and lecture can be really boring sometimes

Loved this professor and this class! I didn't read the textbook once and still got an A, but it's imperative that you attend lecture and take detailed notes if that's the route you choose. Exams are very fair and straightforward, and there are many opportunities for extra credit. I would take this class again and any other class she teaches.

This professor is amazing! She explains everything really well and even shows videos of examples of the concepts to help you remember them in class. There were 3 non-cumulative exams and 2 homework assignments the entire semester. You definitely have to go to lecture, but as long as you show up to class and study before the tests, you'll be ok.

One of the best professors I have had all of college. Genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed.

Lectures are engaging and tests are very fair and straightforward. Watch out for the online quizzes- sometimes she expects you to be a mind reader as to what answer she is looking for. Overall a fair grader and great lecturer.

Rita is an amazing professor. Great lecturer, and wonderful in person. I wouldn't be where I am in my academic career without her guidance. She's the best!

I love Rita!! She gives great lectures so it's a class will actually enjoy going to. It's an hour and fifteen minutes but it goes by very fast! Interesting material and clear grading guidelines. Two homework assignments that don't take more than an hour, the midterm and quizzes (online, open-note) are easy if you review the course. Loved this class

I love Rita! She is so clear in her lectures and make the material a breeze to learn. I was looking for guidance with enrichment opportunities and she was extremely willing to help and give me advice. She's my favorite professor I've had so far here. You have to go to class, but if you do the course is easy. Quizzes are online and open-note.

By far the best Com Dis professor I've had. She makes the material so easy to understand and always answers questions. I always looked forward to going to class and the quizzes/exams were fair and relatively easy. Highly recommend taking this class with her!

easily the best professor on this campus. passionate about teaching students to learn and think for themselves. wants everyone to do well as long as they put in the work. very intelligent and fair teacher. the class itself has a lot of outside work but it is all useful and relevant for the major

She is the best professor I've had so far... The class is easy & you'll enjoy going to lecture everyday. Just make sure to look over lecture slides, and you'll be golden. She offers 10% extra credit too.

LOVE this lady! She definitely keeps you super interested in the material by presenting extremely interesting points and studies. The midterm and final aren't very demanding at all, and as long as you prepare for the quizzes, it's easy to pull of an A. I'd highly recommend any class of hers!!! Don't bother buying the textbook though!

Don't bother buying the textbook, I read it up until the midterm when I realized all the questions come straight from lecture. I stopped reading and did just as well on the final. She is sooo sweet and really cares about her students. Exam questions are easy as long as you know the lecture slides. Do the extra credit to be safe and you'll get an A!

Her passion for the subject matter really shows during lecture. Printing out slides really helps, and quizzes and exams are lecture-based. Exams are a lot more vague than quizzes. If you understand the material, you will do well; she doesn't try to trick you. Extra credit is helpful. Awesome class!

Some of the topics are really interesting, others are extremely boring. As long as you pay attention and study the power point notes you should do well on the quizzes. Exams are more vague than the quizzes but you don't have to do that well on the exams to do well in the class.

She is amazing! More than helpful if you need it, teaches very thoroughly, and writes clear tests and quizzes, try a little bit and you'll get a good grade, and come out knowing some cool stuff, take this class!

she is a fast talker but her slides are really helpful if you miss any thing she says. there are weekly quizzes but they're super easy. exams and final were also very clearly written. she never tested on anything she didnt teach.

She comes off as this very strict Russian woman but really she's a sweet lady. The weekly quizzes are annoying but force you to learn the material. The midterm and final are easy...as long as you recognize most of the concepts you'll me fine. The weekly quizes are half your grade. Great professor and class!!
