Took Psych 453. Dr. J is solid and was lucky to have her in discussion. Lectures were pretty boring but not mando. She speaks very monotone BUT she is super educated on everything sex-ed and gender/identity related. Not a bad Psych class by any means, she provided lots of extra cred. Took PSYCH453. Went to lecture maybe twice and still got an A. Discussion felt like high school (condoms on zucchini, STI charades). Content was painfully basic. Not a psych class, just sex ed. Textbook was dense and dull. Dr. Jerald is smart but should probably be teaching something more advanced, not this!Rate My Professors ↗
She gave fairly engaging lectures and cared about her students and provided lots of extra credit. However, I took Psych 453, not 522. Do not take that class. It is a semester long extremely in depth sex-ed course. Very little to do with psychology, lots of content, and extremely rigid attendance policy for discussions.
