MONIKA CHAVEZ

Really good teacher who is always there for her students and really wants you to succeed. She is an easy grader as long as you complete all of the work she gives and try to participate in class.

Chavez is a caring, funny, and invested instructor. However, it is worth noting that the structure of her classes is filled with easy, but tedious busy work. The class often becomes frustrating just due to the sheer volume of work that could feasibly be much shorter. Accessible and often an easy A, but will take up a lot of your time.

I absolutely love Monika. She is by far my favorite professor I have had at UW and looking forward to having another course with her! She is so sweet and caring and genuinely wants you to do well in the course. She is an easy grader and will give you lots of work but the work isn't difficult. If you can, take a class with her!

Monika is great! She's very nice and encouraging, and an easy grader. As a native speaker, she provides excellent feedback. Some people have complained about her organization, but I personally thought it was very clear what was due when - for each day of class there's a downloadable homework assignment, so it's never been particularly confusing.

Monika is by far the most caring professor Ive had at the UW. She is so sweet and genuinely cares about her students wellbeing, inside of class as well as outside. Overall if you have a chance to take a class with her, do it! Its not too difficult and you'll learn a ton. She does giggle a LOT, but you'll get used to it.

Such a caring person! Definitely my favorite professor at university so far. At times the homework accumulated way way too much and we'd have two projects and a writing assignment due in two days unexpectedly. So I guess the organization of the class could improve, but overall, I highly recommend!!!
