He gives extra credit for answering questions and writing on the board. So everyone rushes to figure out the problem. The class is like a game. Course content wasn't outrageously challenging. Most fun math course I have taken.Rate My Professors ↗
If you answer questions in class, you receive extra credit. Exams are straight forward, every question is taken from the HW, lecture, or recommended problems that he gives every week. Good lecturer and can explain things in many ways. English is good and has exceptional handwriting. Writes down explanations.Rate My Professors ↗

He excels at ensuring students understand the content during lectures. Tests were extremely difficult (mostly proof based questions), although he takes questions directly out of the textbook and gives you the list of possible questions before hand. MBT is young (32) and clearly knowledgeable, but he could improve his teaching. Leaves loose ends in lecture. Exam problems are copy/paste from book problems (students are given a huge list), but the ones he selects are often unrelated to the course. Strong proof emphasis. Very inconsistent teaching and testing. He was good at going over things he wrote on the board before erasing them, but over half the time I couldn't understand what he was writing (or why in the first place).
