he's a really funny and engaging lecturer, but it is very lecture heavy. there's a ton of readings to do every night, but honestly not mandatory since there's no quizzes so they're mostly extra information to know. there's no tests (actually one canvas test, but it's more like if you pay attention then you'll get it) and two essays.Rate My Professors ↗

Michael is such a funny professor—one of the most interesting lecturers I've had. Attendance policy only for discussion. He also posts the lecture slides on Canvas. For lecture, he usually just goes over the slides in class, but also adds extra information. Readings are necessary for exams, but can just pull quotes for exams, which are take home.

Lectures are just him reacting to his slides, but still interesting. He's a funny guy. The lectures occasionally drag, especially in the beginning and during the interminable unit on the Philippines, but otherwise engaging. Very low workload. Grades based mostly on discussion participation and no-rubric essays. You learn a lot!Rate My Professors ↗
