Michael truly is a caring and dedicated instructor. While taking AH 355, I was suffering from a severe mental health crisis, and he was always more than happy to meet in office hours/correspond via email while I was struggling. He helped me thrive in AH 355 despite all of my personal struggles, and I am thankful to have been in his class.Rate My Professors ↗
Michael is one of the hardest professors I have worked with. He expects you to do the dense readings and be able to write about them. However, he is also the only professor who actually taught me how to write an essay. He is also the only one who actually reads what I wrote and gave me feedback. The more you put into his classes the more you will get out. I was pretty motivated to learn abut art, so I got a lot out of his class. He helped me not only become a better writer but to also become more confident in my abilities as a student. I'd take him again in a second. Michael is great. He is the only guy who will read over drafts and sit with you to make an outline. He cares about what you think and accepts disagreement. Be prepared to speak in class and challenge yourself. He probably isnt for you if you just want to do the bare minimum.Rate My Professors ↗
Everything "oscillates and what not" for Michael---most of us had no clue what he was talking about. He is a nice guy, but a little too full of himself. A bit on a power trip--he acts as if he was a professor already. Brags about his accomplishments too much. Pretty annoying most of the time.Rate My Professors ↗
