The most unengaging lecturer I have ever had. I literally could not bear to pay attention during most lectures. I was bored, he seemed bored, and the lack of passion for teaching led to me not caring about learning the content until I had to know it for the final. He gives out very fair tests, and the quizzes on canvas are decent.
Melih is a very unengaging professor for this course. His lectures were so god awfully boring. His slideshows were just screenshots and random information that just felt copied and pasted. I never really understood the read world connections during the course. The first midterm was easy, but everything after that was very had to follow.
Amazing lecturer and cares about his students. His recorded lectures and notes are fantastic. Definitely recommend taking him!
Great lecturer, his notes are incredibly detailed and neat which i love as even if you forget a concept it'll be right there for easy review. Exams weren't bad if you studied well. Lots of homework to be done but do them as they add up. Also, google him when he was young, you will not be disappointed ;) He actually cares about his students. Funny.
The lectures are long and a bit dry. The class is so large that I didn't really interact with him much, but he's a decent engineering professor. Make sure to take good notes, work on some of the homework after each lecture, and make sure your statics knowledge is fresh in your mind for this class.
I really enjoyed this course and it increased my interest in mechanical engineering. He is a very warm person who is also very funny. You could even say he is "Based." I recommend attending all lectures, and doing the homework well because it is a clear indicator if you are ready for the test or not.
Blamed his students for a 50% average on his second midterm. Assigned way too much homework (13+ problems/week online, plus pre and post-discussion quizzes). Discussion attendance was essentially mandatory. Droned in lecture with no inflection in his voice. Did not seem interested in students comprehending the material.
Good lecturer, easy grader, helpful, and can be funny too. Not much more one can ask from just a really decent lecturer.
Eriten is a solid choice for 306. He is very straight forward, lectures are easy to follow and not too boring considering the material. Take advantage of his office hours, he is actually a really nice guy. Tests can be difficult but if you study hard it will pay off. Really no complaints with him.
He's a good teacher, but the tests are sort of tricky. If you work at understanding the material, it isn't too bad. The text book helps a lot
His lectures are bad. He teaches STRAIGHT from the book, the examples are worked out in full in the text. I never really went. But, his tests are not that bad and he gives you opportunity to get a good grade. Also the material is not especially difficult and can be self-taught. He is a funny guy, but his interest really seems to be in research.
