Greatest professor I've ever had and it's not even close. Was a philosophy major before this class, a calc major now. If her section is open TAKE THIS CLASS. Take it twice if you can. If you feel comfortable teaching yourself the material, then feel free to take her class. Stopped going to lecture halfway through the semester because she is about as useful an instructor as a potted plant. I once counted the number of times Melanie said "Um" and had to flip the page after a nice, hefty tally of 171 um's in 30 minutes. I was so exhausted after such hard work that I left. Most work I ever did in Melanie's class.Rate My Professors ↗

Very confusing, unorganized lectures with a lot of "um... you know.. um..." and unnecessary, long-winded paragraphs writted on the board. Unreasonable exams that ask you to explain mathematical theory in words. Unreasonable grading, almost no partial credit given.
