Really nice and caring professor! Love her so much.

She is a very caring professor and the class content is fascinating. I did not find the course reading to be mandatory, but it was generally very interesting. She is very accommodating and helpful, truly a gem. Only thing I would note is that grading can be pretty slow to turn around

I am absolutely convinced that she is a very caring professor, as she is easily accessible in office hours, but she is a very nervous presenter. She seems passionate, and is clearly knowledgeable about her subject, but she reads verbatim from a script the entire class, and mumbles tangentally often. Also, incredibly long midterm & so much reading.

McCoy is extremely kind, but mumbles a LOT (which is so hard to understand while she wears a mask) and reads straight from her notes for the majority of lecture, making it feel like a nervous class presentation. Be sure you're interested in revolutions before taking--the class isn't impossible but definitely difficult due to McCoy's lecturing style

Professor McCoy is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is so passionate about all of her material. Her lectures are super interesting, it makes you want to attend class. She has a weekly short essay based on the readings that are super easy to do, two exams and a final paper.

Professor McCoy is definitely the best professor I have had. Her lectures are really fun and engaging. While there is quite a bit of reading, it's pretty manageable and easy to skim and get the gist. She also really cares about her students and is super helpful during her office hours. There's very few professors as wonderful as she is.

Professor McCoy is truly one of the best professors I've had throughout my three years here. I think it's a combination of my interest in the lecture material and her accessibility and willingness to help her students. The exams were pretty taxing but if you went to lecture and took good notes, you'll be fine.

Really lovely person, really bad lecturer. The class is a lot of reading but its not difficult.

Okay so this woman is the actual love of my life. I found her lectures to be extremely interesting and she's always open to discussion if a student disagrees. She values your opinion, especially if you back it up, and always wants to talk. You can slide through and get a B, but do the readings and go to lecture if you want an A

You don't need to buy the assigned book, I think we read 20 pages out of it total. 310 is a fun class and Mary is very knowledgable but also very nice. Don't skip class because she doesn't usually put PPTs online. A good class to take if you want to boost your GPA while learning a lot of useful stuff.

I've never had a professor who cared more about her students. She cares about students' opinions, lives, grades, etc. I would agree that she's a bit scatterbrained, but her lectures are clear. It's an easy class and she's a really good professor.

Mary isn't necessarily the best speaker, but it's not a problem; her powerpoints are really clear and detailed. She's a really, really nice person and is obviously very knowledgable and well-informed. It's clear she really cares about her students. If you have the chance to take this class, do it. I learned a ton, and it's a pretty easy class!

I really enjoyed McCoy's class and actually wanted to show up to lecture. She's a little scatterbrained, but she gets to the point in lecture and tells you what you need to know. Very concerned about the well being of her students and wants you to get as much out of the course as possible. graded assignments are well covered in and out of class.

Wonderful professor and very knowledgeable. She is always helpful outside of class and her relaxed manner makes her easy to talk to. She emphasized class discussion and loved to hear the students opinions. I would suggest her for this class.

470 is a very interesting class. The best discussion/lecture (my opinion) is the Indonesian Revolution involving Suharto, Goenawan Mohamad, Tempo, etc. Discussing the rhetoric of the Occupy Wall Street protests was also very interesting.

This class is fascinating. She provides a vast array of rich reading material to supplement the primary document readings. Lectures are enjoyable with the use of discussion and comparison (between movements).

She's so bad at lecturing it's sort of embarrassing. Every day she seems visibly nervous and reads directly off notes like she's giving a 7th grade speech. The information is dry and she crams so much information into one lecture that you can't stop writing. Not recommended.

Not a very good lecturer. She is extremely hard to follow. Every time she lectures it sounds like she giving a speech --- super dry! I would not recommend her, avoid this class if at all possible.

She is a great teacher and is very fair. I liked her so much I am taking another class with her next semester.
