One of the worst classes I've ever taken. That said, I'm not a CS person and this class was HIGHLY recommended to me by trusted sources, being called "the most fun computer science course you'll take" (not trusting them for any more course recs). Mark is an extremely smart guy, yet is pretty good at conveying information to students. He has both industry and academia experience, leading to helpful stories to give good practical knowledge instead of purely theoretical. He is a pretty average teacher, and is alright at explaining things. I never once used the book, as the relevant information can be found in the lecture slides. The class was very easy IF you have a programming background. Be prepared to work harder if you have no prior knowledge of programming. Tests and homeworks were VERY easy.Rate My Professors ↗

Though the class moved a bit slowly at times, Hill's lectures were very engaging and clear. He explained new concepts very throughly, and was easy to follow. I never once had to crack open the textbook.Rate My Professors ↗
Fairly good professor, good grasp of material and good at explaining stuff. Online lecture notes are fairly comprehensive, but his hand writing isn't the greatest, so sometimes its hard to read what he's writing on the board.Rate My Professors ↗
