About this rating

Raw average: 4.56/5 from 16 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Course materials are heavy and useful, but lectures are not. I bet at least half of the class got lost during the last few weeks lecture about NP topics. He offers lots of extra credits, but the purpose is just to bump up the grade of entire class to a gradable number. Extra credits does not change your final position in the class.

Manolis is an incredibly passionate professor who genuinely cares about his student's success. The class is extremely time consuming with the quantity of work he assigns, but it translates to high class averages on exams because he conditions you well for success. Doesn't record lectures but lectures are very interactive almost like a HS math class

Professor brings great energy to class and is always available for students. However, they tend to talk a lot during exams, which can be distracting and make it harder to concentrate.

He is a goated professor. Never skipped his lecture. Got enrolled late in his class, one of the best decisions i could've made. He's really engaging and ensures everyone participates. Gives bonuses, but most important of all, he's really supportive. He'll be there for you, will stay hours longer in his OH but will ensure that concepts are clear.

The professor has a very engaging teaching style and conveys the course material in an interesting and accessible way. The homework assignments are moderately challenging, and some of the problems are particularly intriguing and thought-provoking. Overall, the course is rigorous but very rewarding.

Hands down the best professor I had. Cares about students' education and his lectures are engaging despite the complexity of the concepts. 577 was the toughest yet the most fun class I had thanks to him!
