Tough grader. I'll never take his courses again

Prof. Madureira is a great guy, very knowledgable and passionate about what he is teaching. Assigns a decent amount of work but grades easy. He makes a nice effort to learn everyone in class' names. 2 papers, 1 presentation, weekly discussion posts and a few other assignments throughout the semester.

Professor M is such a nice and understanding guy. Very lenient. This class is meant to be a discussion, but he basically talks the entire time - he is very knowledgeable. The chosen books were interesting ... But I would not read anything like them ever again. Grading criteria is unclear and he procrastinated grading until the end.

Prof. Madureira is a great professor! He may sometimes wonder off and let the class go to free discussion, but he usually makes sure that you're gonna get something out of it. He likes and knows a LOT about literature, so by the end of the semester, you might find yourself enjoying it too.

Smart prof who offers awesome insight. The best Comp Lit has to offer.

Classes often degenerate into unregulated, freeform discussion that lead everyone way off track. It's one of those courses for which you'll forget everything the day after the final, and wonder afterwards where those five months of your life went.

Not a bad teacher, just doesn't feel the need to put much effort into his classes. I think his mind is on publishing or something else...

This guy relies on smiling & flirting to coast through the semester. Self-aggrandizing, limited areas of interest, easy grader but feels no obligation to explain assignments beforehand, and lazy. During my class he had papers due about 3 times/month beginning in the first week, but didn't get any graded & returned to us until 2 wks. before finals.

Prof. Madureira is awesome - he explains everything really well and makes sure that everybody has a good grasp of the material. Fairly lenient and very understanding. Incredibly sweet and thoughtful and also pretty funny. His passion for literature could inspire the most literature-hating person

Prof M was my professor years ago. He is the most generous and thought provoking lecturer: if you want to be challenged and learn a lot about things you aren't exposed to, take his classes. They will change your world if you're open minded and don't expect learning to be about only the easy A

Not really "hot" but sort of an endearing person. Very organized lecture, taking notes is easy. If you're not a good analyzer of literature,go to class to understand the material covered. One of those profs you want to clap for at the end!

Prof. Madureira is amazing. I had him in a very small class and he was very open to all opinions and encouraged all differences in creativity. I would love to have him as a professor again.
