The class is a bit more work than 1 credit's worth, but it's doable. He provides clear and detailed assignment writeups which help you apply the weekly lecture topics in C++. I stopped showing up to lectures and just learned the syntax on the fly. He did his best to make the assignments fun and always snuck a few jokes in the writeups. 70% to pass.Rate My Professors ↗
Luke does a great job teaching C++. This class pairs well with CS354 in one semester. Projects weren't always graded quickly, but he understands and is fair about it. Example: I made a mistake on two projects in a row, but because I turned in the second one while the first was being graded, I told him I made the mistake again and wasn't penalized.Rate My Professors ↗
This class has definitely improved since the last reviewer. Everything was released and graded in a timely manner. Projects are honestly super fun, they can be challenging but it's manageable and rewarding. DO NOT TAKE unless you have previous coding knowledge (CS300+). Lectures can be dry, but Prof Swanson knows his stuff. He's very nice too.Rate My Professors ↗
Please do not take CS368 with Luke. Although he's a nice guy, he's the most disorganized instructor I've ever had. Each week he gives us approximate dates we can expect grades/assignments to be released by, and he consistently goes days--if not WEEKS--past those dates.
