Prof. Madureira is a great guy, very knowledgable and passionate about what he is teaching. Assigns a decent amount of work but grades easy. He makes a nice effort to learn everyone in class' names. 2 papers, 1 presentation, weekly discussion posts and a few other assignments throughout the semester.

Professor M is such a nice and understanding guy. Very lenient. This class is meant to be a discussion, but he basically talks the entire time - he is very knowledgeable. The chosen books were interesting ... But I would not read anything like them ever again. Grading criteria is unclear and he procrastinated grading until the end.

Prof. Madureira is a great professor! He may sometimes wonder off and let the class go to free discussion, but he usually makes sure that you're gonna get something out of it. He likes and knows a LOT about literature, so by the end of the semester, you might find yourself enjoying it too.

Classes often degenerate into unregulated, freeform discussion that lead everyone way off track. It's one of those courses for which you'll forget everything the day after the final, and wonder afterwards where those five months of your life went.
