About this rating

Raw average: 2.88/5 from 25 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

BIOCHEM 501
Quality 2/5Difficulty 4/5
Dr. Lenertz is an incredibly boring lecturer. She just reads off of things she wrote in a monotone voice, and her slides contain very little actual information. She jumps around between topics and does not highlight important information.

Dr. Lenertz is an okay lecturer, kind of disorganized but the best out of the 4 professors that taught this class. Tests were generally challenging, but attending office hours and reading through passages in the text helped.

I liked her lectures. she explained concepts clearly. her test could be hard, but everyone got extra credit due to a hard exam.

Quality 5/5Difficulty 4/5
While the lectures alone don't provide enough information to get an A, her online notes for each lecture are fantastic! This section of biochem was my best because she clearly laid out everything we were expected to know in her online notesR.

BIOCHEM 501
Quality 3/5Difficulty 4/5
Lisa teaches the synthesis unit of Biochem 501 . While it can be intimidating to know that you're required to memorize the MANY pathways covered in her section, she does a nice job emphasizing the steps/enzymes she expects you to know. Her unit was certainly tough, but the exam was very fair! She is a very nice individual, but her lectures are dry.

BIOCHEM 501
Quality 2/5Difficulty 3/5
Of the four sections of the course and four professors teaching this teacher got the hardest section to teach but did not teach it well. Too much information was provided and the lecture slides are composed of endless pathways. Test was too specific in my opinion. Shes good at answering your questions and will point you in the right direction.
