Almost impossible to understand. He goes off on tangents, does not give clear explanations to his students or TA's (they were just as lost as we were throughout the semester.) Does not give any information about the exams prior to the exam date. Has unreasonable expectations for dissecting musical compositions.Rate My Professors ↗
Pretty good professor, I don't really have any complaints. The class itself is very easy as long as you read. Quizzes focused on terms and concepts from the reading mostly, your discussion group does a good job at preparing you for those. The tests focus more on the listenings in class and in the reading as well as the timeline of the reading.Rate My Professors ↗

Didn't enjoy this class. Took it for an easy A while in harder courses but wasn't as easy as would have liked. Lecture is useless, though the professor is kind of funny. No books. Just read the material and memorize it a day or two before the test/quiz. Would not recommend b/c it is a bad class but isn't that difficult.Rate My Professors ↗
Two exams, worth the same. No final. Second exam is not cumulative. It's a lot of history, and it can be really boring. You do listen to some music, and he tells you beforehand which ones he expects you to be able to identify upon hearing it. He doesn't always seem the nicest. I've heard him say some demeaning stuff.
