Professor Huang is genuinely one of the best professors I have ever come across. Her lectures are incredibly deep and interesting, and I felt like I was always learning something new in a truly exciting way. Professor Huang is not a linear thinker, but she will always clarify things if asked. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!!!! Difficult but enriching class.

Overall, this is a good class. She is very nice and understanding. The class is very attendance-heavy. You will need to purchase a lot of books, but you can easily find them online for free.

Professor Huang's lectures are intimate and frantic, which is a fun combination and really gets students jazzed up about the content. Inspired me to love reading in a new way and passed on a particular love for campus novels, a genre that she is very proficient. The selected novels were all a pleasure to read.

Dr Huang is great; she gives good assignments and good feedback. She creates a low-stress environment while at the same time pushing students to create quality work.

Professor Huang is a great lecturer and really engages with the material! She is easily accessible outside of the classroom and allows for essay/homework revisions so that you can receive full points on your work.

Professor Huang was a really great lecturer. She presents the course material in a very engaging manner and gives thoughtful feedback on papers.

Professor Huang structures lecture in a way that encourages you to have a conversation with the texts. She presents big topics, then narrows them down and dives deep into them so it's more easily digestable. Lots of reading, but that's any English class. Really cares about her students - not just about memorizing, but learning. Would take again.

Professor Huang seems like a great person and she's knowledgeable and passionate about her field, however she reads from a script during lectures and it feels very disjointed because of that. Her thought processes can be hard to decipher and when you ask for clarification it usually doesn't get much better. Don't get me started on the partner exam

She cares about students, but is also clearly inexperienced as a lecturer. She gives dense, disorganized lectures, requiring you to write down her ideas verbatim, often without explanation. Lectures are therefore boring and stressful (calling on students randomly) but you fail after 3 absences. Would not recommend at all.

Prof Huang is genuinely a nice person who is passionate about the material, but she isn't a good teacher. She needs more experience. She calls on people randomly during lecture and makes them speak into a mic. Her lectures are so dense, all over the place, and often hard to follow. Two papers and two exams, the first of which was a partner exam.

Lecture and discussion are mandatory. If you miss more than 3 total, you automatically fail. However, the content in the lectures is very dense, and covers the intricacies of the readings that were to be completed for that day, so it's definitely worth going. She's extremely nice, knowledgeable about the subject, and accessible. Recommended.

Loved Prof. Huang. She was sweet, insightful, and I feel like I got a lot out of the class because she made you work for it! Definitely not a sit-back-and-relax type of class, but an expected amount of work in an upper-level class. Her enthusiasm for the subject and her students is impressive!

Professor Huang I absolutely amazing. She is so intelligent and friendly. I get so much out of each class. The class is discussion based and she truly values new ideas. Her passion is so evident and although it may be a decent amount of work, every second is worth it.

She is unorganized, never answers your emails, gives you a day notice to get a book and read 100 pages, grade the essays hard. Do yourself a favor and do no take her

I love Huang. The books and articles we had to read were amazing and informative. There is a one page reflection due each week, with two extensive papers. NO EXAMS! Her feedback is great and helpful, and she caters the class based on the needs of every individual student. Love this class, take it, love it.
