Kristin was a very nice professor who broke down technical concepts in ways that non-technical students could understand. Would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants a good start into databases and learning a query language such as SQL. Group projects take a bit of time but are pretty interesting. Exams are very lecture heavy however.
Kristin and the TA are super helpful during lab when you have questions. The class is a breeze because they use tons of examples during lectures, which makes it easy to understand. Also, you don't have to go to office hours to get a good grade, Kristin is pretty forgiving. And the best part is we usually finish all the assignments during class.
Professor E made this class super chill. She genuinely cares about her students and goes out of her way to ensure that the content is easy to understand and interesting. All assignments are pretty straightforward. Take this class with her if you get the chance
Fairly average ethnic studies class, pretty easy but not super interesting. A lot of reading assigned but not totally necassary because she covers all of it in lecture anyway, class doesn't follow any logical order really but it's not too bad.
Eschenfelder is super nice - but this class was terrible. The content didn't follow any sort of logical pattern. Tests were easy though & not curved (which was a good thing, b/c lots of ppl got As). If you want an easy class, go ahead. But if you want an interesting class, stay away.
Class is easy enough, but she can't read graphs.
Dr. Eschenfelder is fantastic! I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs an ethnic studies requirement. The class is mostly common sense + a little reading and then exams. It's really easy to pass, and easy to understand. Loved this class!
Fairly helpful, clear, and enthusiastic. Only a mid-term, final, and an ongoing wiki project (easy, but dumb & pointless, but it's 30 free points). Exams were more difficult than you'd think, but they were pretty heavily curved. Moderate amount of reading. Overall, a fairly easy ethnic - probably as easy as they come.
She teaches because she has to, but research is her real focus. Her lectures aren't bad, but don't expect help outside of class.
Like many library studies classes, Kristin's classes are easy. In contrast to other's classes though, information is presented clearly. Too heavy on the "socratic method" in class tho, sometimes the class doesn't know the answer, no matter how long you prod, isn't supplying the expertise the prof's job?
