Absolutely amazing professor! Kristen is so nice and always brings a lot of positive energy to class. She also cares about you as a person and listens to anything random in life you want to tell her. It's ridiculous people don't do well in this class and blame her for them not studying well enough, because she makes the class way easier than it is!

Kristen is the best professor I've ever had! I'm not an Accounting major, so no bias here. This class was definitely a tough one, but she made it way easier to understand. She's a nice lady with lots of positive energy!

Great professor for a tough accounting class. She explained the topic and materials well and answered questions from students exceptionally. Has flexible office hours and is good at helping you understand topics you don't quite understand well. The in-class packets, tests, and exam review packets are great materials to prepare for the hard exams.

She was an excellent lecturer and professor. She understands the matieral and explains it really well. For most ACCT 301 is considered difficult, but it is just a continuation of 100 and Prof. Fuhremann does a great job at teaching the matieral. I would 100% take her again!

This was the hardest class I have taken at UW. I would do anything in your power to take ACCT 100 and 211 at another school. Be prepared to spend all your energy on this class and still barely pass. The exams are impossible, and the course is completely taught by your TA, so if you get a bad one, you'll have to work twice as hard as your peers.

100% Taught by TA's, the course material is less computational than AIS100, though less also less intuitive. Kristen gave us so much material to learn and prepare for exams. My only critique would be the Wiley homework, which was very difficult and unrelated to exam content. This course is masterfully run and very fair if you're willing to work.

Class is 100% TA taught, well structured and consistent. It's like ACCT100 but a little easier and more conceptual. Exams are very fair, mimic in-class work.

This is a challenging class no matter what professor you get. However, taking it with Kristen made the content easier. Kristen explained the content well and was accessible outside of class. While she is a great lecturer, her true asset is as an educator. She is the only professor to voluntarily learn everyone's names and check in on their lives.

Absolute hardest class I have ever taken. Accounting 100 traumatized me, but this class was worse. Unfortunately, this class isn't taught by Kristen Fuhremann, it's taught by an accounting student just like AIS100 and that is the problem. I only saw Kristen once when she oversaw the TA's teaching during one class. She was a nice lady tho

This class was taught by TA's, not Kristen. The activities and WileyPlus work take too long to do and the problems aren't the same as the exam questions. Despite hours of studying and practicing, the exams were so difficult. The homework barely accounts for any of your grades despite taking the most time to do. This class needs a serious revamp.

Horrible class

This class sucks. The professor doesnt teach it's done by TA's. The exams literally make or break your grade. There is pointless Wiley plus homework that doesnt correlate well to exams. Overall, class just moves way too fast and is super difficult to grasp.

This class is terribly difficult. Hardest class I've taken at UW-Madison. Taught by a TA, which doesn't help.

My TA was amazing and I have nothing to complain about on their behalf, but the class in general, is a nightmare. The quizzes and exams make or break you. The insane amount of pre/post homework on Wiley accounts for very little of your grade and takes too long to complete. The worst part is the time allotment for exams and quizzes. Not enough time!

IMAcc grad student TA teaches you not Kristen. A smart 5th grader that is good at algebra could ace this class. The concepts are easy. Only complaint is most of class time is spent doing problems. Too much wasted time if you're fast and finish quickly. Free response almost identical to what you do in class. Easy exams but tight time so work fast.

I had some serious concerns about how the course is structured. I went out of my way to meet with Prof Hubanks about these concerns, & her response was when I asked my high school kids their thoughts on . The fact that this is her response is embarrassing, & we also received 0 acknowledgement from our mid course evalsdid she even read them?

She didn't really even teach my section when I had it. It was taught by a TA. It was pretty easy but I had already taken finance 300 so the NPV stuff was extremely easy for me. Her exams were very similar to the quizzes so it was not bad at all IMO.

Worst class taken in the SOB. Kristen is unopen to feedback: it's expected we work on hw 2 hrs before each class&1hr post-class. Imagine doing this for every course: that equates to 75hrs of hw (+15cr. hrs worth of class) totaling for a 90hr week in addition to any job or club you're involved in. This is an introductory course-time to reconstruct.

Today we learned if you dont have a finance calculator/ have never calculated NPV on one, dont worry, you have the option to do it the long way. Thats the theme of this whole course: you are ONLY taught the long way of solving a problem. That doesnt work with time constrained exams. Its a no from me.

This class was a lot for an intro course. The quizzes & exams had a lot of MC with answers word-for-word from the book, not from lecture slides/ notes (makes it difficult to study). There are 2 midterms and a final which is cumulative. Despite studying for hours, going to class, doing HW-- it was difficult to get above a 70 on any exam/ quiz.

80% of your grade is from 3 exams and 3 quizzes. Her exams are unfairas you are not given enough time to complete them fully. Exams are not reflective of Wiley exam-practice problems (that she tells you to do to prep), you receive no practice exam, only a few in class practice MC(bad when 50% of exam is MC), & no partial credit for free response

Took Accounting 301 with her completely online. She provides helpful videos every week, and quizzes help you stay up to date with reading. She is kind and a quick responder to questions for assignments. For the midterm and final, as well as the quizzes, she clearly lays out what you should study. Overall great professor to have during COVID.

Had a great experience with Prof. Fuhremann for Accounting. 301. She was always accessible, had great lecture videos put together, and laid out the exam content very clearly. I would recommend taking any section with Prof. Fuhremann if possible. When compared to other professors at UW, Kristen is of the best in regard to instruction quality.

The difficulty of this class will depend on how you felt about ACCT100. If you thought 100 was easy, this will be a joke. Class is basically 100 all over again except faster with a couple new concepts. Was super lazy and would cram readings a week or two before exams and would still ace them. Kristen is super nice and helpful and her exams are fair

Kristen is awesome, would recommend her classes, take them every chance you get

Kristin is a great lecturer, she truly wants you to learn and understand the material. She is always willing to clear up any confusion and is accessible outside of class.

Great Professor! Super helpful, answers questions both in class and more than willing to reexplain in her office hours. Graded on participation, 3 exams, and quizzes.

Great accounting instructor. Class was engaging with plenty of student participation. Always answered questions. 4 quizzes, done individually and then in a group. Exams and HW are the same regardless of instructor. Kristen explained the material well and always wanted to help. Take any class with her you can.

Accounting 211 is taught by TA's just like Accounting 100 is. Kristen's name is often one you will see as head of the class. Therefore the TA you get is very important. Section grades (homework, quizzes) are curved based on section but exams are curved for the whole class. Therefore a bad TA won't ruin your grade but a good one will help!

Best professor I had at UW-Madison! I wish she taught every accounting class, which will make learning so much easier. She is an exceptional instructor and also the director for our accounting program. Explains materials very well, accessible outside class, cares about students, truly a role model to me!

Kristen is a gem. Take her every chance you get. Great lecturer and awesome at clarifying things for students.

Amazing professor for Intermediate Accounting. I was confuse after reading the chapter in the book before class but after the lecture she gives everything becomes so much more clear. She explains concepts really well and makes sure you understand it. Would definitely recommend her, she really knows the material.

By far my best professor at UW!! If you get a chance, definitely take a class with her. She explains the material very clearly and answers questions in a way that makes you understand the material.

Kristen was probably my best professor at UW-Madison. The course was extremely difficult and she broke it down in a way that made it make sense. She was always willing to help at her office hours and she clearly wanted her students to learn and do well. I would advise everyone to take a class with her because she really is an exceptional professor!

Super clear and organized lectures. Very inspirational as she talked about real-world applications of the accounting topics a lot.
