No offense…but if you can't spell properly during your lectures, you probably shouldnt be calling yourself a professor (because you aren't one) or teaching a senior capstone class for engineers.

Skipped class all semester (a good thing) and didn't miss a single thing

Codee is a bully which is why he has a job where he works with students who he can push around. He could never get away with how he acts with actual professionals his own age, so he has to work at a college instead

Just started 509, didn't like how 508 went last semester. You can tell he's butthurt by all these bad reviews. Sorry Kody, you've got no one to blame but yourself. Maybe you can talk to the professors in your department so you can learn how to act and teach correctly, since you aren't one yourself. This is a university, not a farm or factory

Prepare to be gaslit. Projects are a dumpster fire with no clear direction and he likes to dodge questions (because he himself is clueless) or give different answers at different points in the semester

If you unfortunately have to take this class with him, it will be a complete waste of your time but at least watch and observe his behavior and let it be a lesson on how not to behave at work. If you act like him and mistreat others you're guaranteed to never hold down a real job, especially an engineering job. He doesn't get along with anyone

Worst class ive ever taken at UW Madison. Glad it got canceled, should've never been taught in the first place, especially with Kody who has arguably one of the worst attitudes I've ever encountered in a teacher

I am a graduate student and I tried using the lab for my research but switched to the TEAM lab instead, much better experience. They are more professional and it is much safer there (and less filthy). Are you running a machine shop or a circus?

Typical farmer

Kody may look like a grown adult but he has the mind of an angry teenager. When a student doesn't understand something or the whole class is lost he gets belligerent and throws a temper tantrum like a child. Chill out dude

I wouldn't trust anything this guy builds, really bad welds and basic shop skills. And also very unprofessional

He will create a toxic learning environment both during class and outside of class

Kody is a great example of someone who couldn't hack it in industry or get along with people and had to end up being a teacher to to get away with his behavior while not needing to actually produce anything or be held accountable

Kody can be a tough professor but he very obviously cares. His harsh grading can be chalked up to him wanting us to be the best engineers we can be, but if you have an issue he is very easy to talk to and always willing to work with you both on personal issues and in class issues.

Im just glad I never have to take a class with this person or department again and deal with his anger issues

Go teach at a trade school. Even trade students would probably get fed up with him

Kody was a great professor and overall a great guy. He worked hard to make sure I succeeded and gave great advice for projects and assignments.

He admitted in class that not only has he seen his reviews but that he doesnt care about them or what we think so that should tell you everything you need to know about what kind of teacher and person he is

This guy never has any idea what he is talking about. He will make up answers to make you go away. He will say one thing then contradict himself the next time. I think it is on purpose because he hates having to deal with students

I've had Kody for both class and interacted with him plenty as a BSE student. Kody is not the best instructor you'll have at UW and can be a bit rough around the edges but is nowhere near as bad as some of these reviews. Kody won't give you answers immediately and makes you search for them (a good thing) that ultimately make you a better engineer.

The real Wisconsin experience! Thought I was learning engineering but it turned out to be farming. Now I know why this class sucked. What a joke

I found this class to be very disappointing. Don't know what his problem is or why he acts this way but he is always very passive aggressive and condescending so just avoid him and this class completely because you learn nothing but a bunch of nonsense. If you want to learn engineering find someone else to teach it to you

The lectures are useless so dont bother going to them. Not much need to take this class in general..

Before I took this class I looked at Kody's ratings, and I was very nervous. Yet, I gained a lot of new experiences. Kody has seen his ratings and has tried to improve himself. The lectures are snooze fests, but once you start building your project it is fun. He sometimes is not the best at answering questions and giving directions. Decently nice

He is a very rude and passive aggressive person. He tries to do as little work as possible when teaching the class and dodges questions that might force him to have to try and actually teach. When he gets asked for help about course material he just makes up an excuse for why they need to figure it out, so dont be surprised when its all wrong

Kody was a great introduction to the BSE department faculty in my opinion. I would say that 170 was heavy on the homework at times given it only being a 2 credit course. But this is a 2 credit ENGINEERING course, so it is automatically going to be more work than a 2 credit seminar for some environmental studies.

The class is so pointless, feels like it should be taught to high school students. And Kody has a massive temper problem he is impossible to work with. He is always on some type of warpath

This class is a joke, but with Kody in charge, that was of little shock to me. He is so passive-aggressive and clearly hates his job, which I cant entirely blame him for, but this class really shows why he doesn't have a real engineering position and resorts to having to teach a freshman intro class. Very poor first impression of the department

He is good when you ask questions and lecture material however, he is extremely rude and makes it clear who he favors and who he does not. The fact he goes out of his way to be condescending made me reconsider my major a few times. Just make sure he likes you
