Prof was great and a very interesting lecture. He is nice and will understand accommodations. The four exams are lecture heavy but go to class and study the slides for a good grade. The discussion assignments are manageable. Overall he is a good guy and it is a cool course.
A great professor who always encourages students to ask questions. The course contains lots of material, but not necessarily hard. Study each ppt slide carefully and try to understand the content fully.
Ken is actually the funniest professor and had me cracking up every lecture. The class is laid back but also interesting and you'll learn a lot. There are weekly quizzes, very clear and no trick questions. You will enjoy this class and prof whether or not you are a bio major
He is really nice and sweet. Class is kind of boring because most of time is just he talking. There was a weekly quiz about the class material and few readings. A group project and presentation on bunch of bio paper. And a final essay. He will drop lots of lovely comments for paper. Overall a chill and interesting class
TAKE THIS IF YOU ALREADY KNOW GEOSCI, Not the easy grade everyone said. If you do poorly on one exam, you can't bring your grade up. Professor Keefover was great and I would take his course again but definitely not 'super easy'.
Professor was great and it was clear he was passionate about the content. If you're looking for an easy A for science cred, go for a lower-level course. You're graded by 4 exams and the averages are low. Most people get B's in this class and that's after putting in more than the req credit hours. Still loved the professor tho!
I loved Ken! I had a smaller class so we really got to interact with him; he recorded lectures, but being in person was worth it, and I loved his dad jokes. He is super accessible and kind- communicate with him if you have difficulties! He really wants students to do well/understand the material. I highly recommend GEOG338 too & I learned a lot!
Ken is a super super nice professor with an obvious passion for what he teaches. Lectures were typically dry, but he usually posted a recording after class. If you go to class and take good notes, you should be prepared for the exams (all 4 non-cumulative, taken in class, no final)
Very likeable guy, but lectures were pretty boring. He basically reads off of the slides for every lecture, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but isn't super engaging. Grade is almost entirely based off of 4 non-cumulative exams (no final exam) that are all pretty easy and straight off of the lecture slides.
Ken is a loveable dude, but he tends to read off slides. I found myself skipping a lot of lectures because they didn't feel worthwhile.
The class wasn't the most interesting but Professor Ken is a good prof. Makes jokes throughout lectures to keep it lighthearted. Class is easy as long as you do discussion assignments and study straight from the slides.
Ken is such a nice and funny guy! Makes good dad jokes in class and is very supportive. His lectures were sometimes boring topics, but he made them interesting enough! Basically no homework, tests come straight from the lecture slides, which are uploaded. If you study the lectures, you'll do good.
You can tell he cares about his students. His classes are lecture heavy; however, he tries his best to keep students entertained with stories and jokes. You can tell he loves what he does!
readings short and to the point. Lectures are all-encompassing of exams and recorded. Prof very caring and responsive. Makes lecture enjoyable
Professor Keefover-Ring is the sweetest. He tries really hard to make lectures interesting and accessible by explaining everything in detail and adding tons of examples. He's super helpful outside of class and always is available and wanting to help. This course was an interesting introduction to Earth Science and I would highly recommend!
He was a really funny lecturer and was receptive to student feedback on his lectures. The class didn't have a ton of homework, it's good to read the textbook but you can get by without it if you really have to. Exams were curved up quite a lot.
Professor Keefover-Ring can be pretty funny if not a little awkward with his dad jokes at times, but it keeps lectures interesting, although just staying home and looking over the slides would be just fine in terms of test material. Always very friendly and passionate.
He was a fine professor. Kinda boring, but that may be because I'm not super into ecology. The test was about what I expected, and it was fairly easy. The lecture slides don't really help on their own, so make sure you pay attention in lecture.
Dr. Keefover-Ring is a great professor with a depth of knowledge in a very interesting field. What I really loved about Dr. Keefover-Ring was his willingness to meet with people outside of his usual office hours and just meet for an hour and chat about content. He is a really sweet guy who really cares about the welfare of his students. Recommend!
yeah idk lectures sucked and barely had any info on them and he is so monotone its so hard to even stay awake. His exam was way harder than his quizzes and practice questions. Also made students show up to an in person exam when there was an active tornado warninghis unit out of the 3 was the worst in my opinion!
Very nice guy and interesting lecture videos. Only complaint would be that the quizzes were much easier than the final exam. That being said, he prepares you for the exam and is a good professor but if you take this class with him I would recommend studying more than you think you should for the exam because it is detail oriented.
Super nice professor! Lecture not attendance mandatory, but you'd probs struggle if you don't go. A lot of readings, but I only read like two in the beginning and got an AB in the class. Few group presentations based on articles read in class. Tests not hard but not easy- just study ur notes.
At first I was disappointed with Keefover-Ring, but by the end of the class he had started to grow on me. He isnt a very dynamic speaker, and his presentations are basically just content from the textbook verbatim (so maybe read the book for this section of class), but hes a really nice guy and is pretty funny. His test is also very fair.
Ken is so cool I took classes he taught twice to fulfill my science reqs. Nice guy who doesn't worry too much about specifics, just wants to get good material understanding in your head. Just listen to his lectures, ask questions about the concepts you don't understand. Better environment in smaller lectures, wasn't a fan of the bigger ENV120 one.
To get an A in GEOG 120, go to every lecture and take thorough notes (the tests are based heavily off of lectures) and go to discussions. Really put in effort because only 18% of the kids got an A in fall 2017. Regarding Ken, he is extremely funny and is great at explaining the concepts.
Ken was a good teacher. His lectures were sometimes pretty boring but most of the stuff was pretty easy to learn. Discussions weren't very helpful but exams were easy enough if you looked over the slides. Overall a pretty easy class and Ken was a funny teacher.
Ken is great!! His lectures are fun and interesting and his tests speak exactly to his lectures. Just study the lectures a few times and you'll be fine. He is also funny, which makes class a lot more fun and his office hours are very chill. The material is easy to understand and anyone with any science background will get an easy A. Take it!
Keith was a good professor for Geography, he's a very goofy and funny guy. I enjoyed attending his lectures, but his tests are very weirdly worded so it was hard to do well on them. The TAs for this class made it harder than the actual material; there isn't much help outside of the class itself besides office hours with the professor.
Quizzes didn't reflect the difficulty at all, they were a lot easier than the exam. Somehow, he made ecology difficult. The questions and answers were tricky and weirdly-worded. Slides are pretty sparse, but you can get away with just reading the textbook. He's pretty funny in a quirky way, so lecture's aren't too bad.
