Karen was great! She definitely cares about her students and wants to get to know them.

She is so sweet and caring. She will accomendate you. She gives you open-book final exam by giving you notes and answers. She yelles at moves and messes up moves sometimes ;) She will be your dance partner if you do not have a partner. She smiles a lot and she is fun-loving. Shr is a bubbly girl with a good heart who is a embassador of water dance.

I really enjoyed Ballroom with Karen. The grading was a little unclear at times due to Canvas, but she did explain it. She also had office hours, which was super useful for when I couldn't make it to class. Overall a very fun experience! Be aware you have to attend department concerts, which is a requirement of the department.

Love Karen, I've taken two of her classes and she super funny. Grading is so easy with just midterm and final (Plus 5% of the grade for going to performances outside of class)

She often isn't clear about assignments or requirements for the class. When asked questions about attendance/grading what she says doesn't match the criteria on canvas. Overall, she is very passionate about the class. I think she is a good dance teacher, but she treats the class like it's worth 3 credits and not 1.

In the beginning she seemed like a really nice and funny teacher who cared about her students. Unfortunately she quickly got to be very nasty and had short patience and has a bit of an ego. The class was only a 1 credit course and she still managed to stress me out during it. Would not recommend taking her, find someone else in the department

Karen is great! she is so helpful and really cares about her students. If you have dance experience, you should definitely try and take a 100 level course. I found myself not being as challenged by her class, but she did her best to push me in the things we were doing. She definitely challenges beginners, but is a good instructor and sweet human.

Easy class, made easier by a great professor. Just read the textbook and participate in the daily discussion for easy A.

I loved Karen. She is a wonderful instructor and runs a tight ship. There was also a live pianist. She really cares about her students and you will learn so much, regardless of how experienced you are. Great great instructor.

I took her class with a little previous ballroom experience. It was great! Would definitely recommend for and easy class if you need an extra credit to fill out your schedule. If you go to class and you're not stupid you'll be fine. One thing is you DO have to find social dances and performances ($15 each!) outside of class to go to.

I loved Karen, but the class was so boring for me. Don't take the class if you've had lots of prior dance experience. That being said, take it if you want to try something new! Karen is a lot of fun and has great energy. The class itself teaches lots of basic skill and technique. Again, if you're looking for a difficult dance class -you'll be bored

Great teacher and person in general. Her happiness and love or dancing is contagious. If you are doing this class for fun keep in mind that it isn't a cake walk. That being said, if you do what is required of you it is very difficult to do poorly.

One if the best instructirs

Karen was great! So enthusiastic every day and so willing to help all of the students in the class learn. I love Karen! :)

Pretty good class. Gave me an appreciation for modern dance. It was a great way to destress between more difficult classes. She says the class is for people of all skill levels, but she is quite tough on those that don't get things right away. Do your best and don't take yourself too seriously and you'll get a lot out of this class.

She used to be really nice, but it seems like every semester her enthusiasm about students is less. Instead of encourage dancing, she let my shy classmate with so much frustration and the feeling he will never would be able to dance socially. It was a 1 credit class! She could have forgotten minimal details specially when he tried so hard.
