Often extremely late to class and for in-class exams which was really frustrating. Lectures were also super confusing and had no linear path. She also has an extremely high A cutoff (94%) so for me with 100% attendance and 90% exam average I got an AB which is extremely frustrating. Professor Phillips-Court is one of those rare professors that once you stumble upon, and given you have any sense of quality, you know you stumbled upon a gem of a mind. Do not take any course with this professor. She's very disorganized and rambunctious with her teaching style -- she goes on tangents, doesn't have words on her slides so it's very easy to get lost. You'll rely on your TA very heavily, because they actually know what they're talking about. She also takes everything personally. Do not take with her.Rate My Professors ↗
This class is one of the best I've taken on campus as a STEM major. Phillips-Court makes lectures exciting to be at as she's very passionate about Machiavelli. Class isn't as easy as a 100 level humanity but if you show up and pay attention and do the readings the assignments/exams aren't difficult.
