One of my fav prof, his lectures were always engaging and each class always had discussion. Minimal homework, long assignments with clear criteria, and lots of time to complete. Only exams were midterm and final besides weekly quizzes on the previous week's content.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof. Morgul is a sweetheart who clearly has a passion for what he is teaching. Very easy class if you pay attention. Only real hw is an online weekly quiz posted over the weekend and is based off of lectures. He post all of his powerpoint and makes deep connections to topics in class. Amazing professor! Lectures are very interesting and the prof is genuinely just a nice guy who is passionate about the course and wants you to learn. He doesn't believe in exams so grades are solely based on participation and short assignments. If you go to lectures and submit all the assignments, it's an easy A.Rate My Professors ↗
Homework doesnt take too long, lectures are interesting and Professor Morgul shows a real passion for his specialty, and does a great job trying his best to spread that passion in a way that isnt unreasonably difficult or expects too much of students. I would highly recommend professor Morgul, SOC134 was one of my favorite courses I've taken. There is no exams- just 5 homework assignments that are super interesting and relatively quiz, one short canvas quiz a week, and a couple readings (also super interesting) that you skim and make a few comments on.
