This was my first experience with a creative writing course, but this prof made it so enjoyable. Definitely take a class with Kay if you have the chance. Every week a couple people's short story or poems are critiqued in an open discussion, and overall you will be scored on how hard you try and how much you show you improve over the semester

Great class great teacher. Professor Harlan has ADHD (she is open about it) and it is easy to see when she is giving lectures. She can be a little scatterbrained at times but this also makes class more interesting. She is a great storyteller and this can be seen in her lectures. She is kind and helpful when giving feedback. Very creative and fun.
