I have taken a few classes with Dr. Kate and she is amazing! Great prof and human being. She is very compassionate and understanding. If you communicate with them, they are very willing to help/make a plan. Overall, amazing!

Absolutely love Professor Phelps, she's so helpful and cares for her students. The course is easy to understand as long you show up to lectures, even if they're not mandatory, still try to go when you don't feel like it.

Dr. Kate is one of the kindest professors I have had. She is always willing to meet with students, and she enjoys talking to them. This class was easy, and you could watch lectures online. The material was broad and not very deep, but good for finding things your interested. The final paper was simple, especially if you do it early in the semester.

Literally easiest class ever. You don't need to attend lectures or do the readings as long as you have common sense. Only a few assignments and one 5-7 page research paper on literally any topic. Discussion participation is 20% of your grade (same as paper)

Very easy class. Very few assignments. You do not have to do any of the readings really or attend lecture. You just have to participate in your discussion and you will be good. Participation is 20% of your grade, so just email your TA every once and a while and talk during discussion and you will get 100%.

Not enough good things to say about Dr. Kate--hands down, the best professor I've had at UW-Madison. The most caring, passionate, and warm person who clearly loves what she does. This course was incredibly interesting and led me to declare a GWS certificate. If you have a chance to take a class with Dr. Kate, do it!!!

She was amazing and I loved her class. There were no tests and homework was pretty easy, but there was one final paper. Lectures were interesting and entertaining, and you were still able to follow them without the readings for the class.

Dr. Kate is by far the best professor I've had in my time at UW. She is passionate, funny, knowledgeable, and so engaging. An all-around amazing person and teacher. I don't think I've ever learned as much, or been as engaged, as I was in this class. Genuinely a life-changing course. I HIGHLY recommend taking a course with Dr. Kate.

Read/viewed a lot of interesting content, and you better read it because there are pop quizzes. Never took a GWS class before, and this one was really fun. She's a really engaging lecturer and easy grader.

Dr. Kate is a great lecturer she is fun, passionate, and very knowledgeable about what she teaches. She can sometimes go off on tangents but they are always interesting. She is super sweet and cares a lot about her students and does a good job of interacting with them during lectures. Loved her and this class would 10/10 take again.

Love Dr. Kate and this class (Body politics). She is so nice.flexible. Material for the class is awesome and really makes you think critically while still being easily manageable/understood. Pop quizzes but they r easy and she warns you sometimes. Big project at the end, time consuming but interesting and you choose the topic. Participate also

An amazing professor and person! Very kind and accessible inside and outside class. Many readings for classes, but all are fairly interesting and informative. This course, along with Dr. Kate, really helped me grow and changed my ideas, and I am very glad I took it. Lectures and discussions and very interesting and thought-provoking as well!

I literally loved her so much, she was very passionate about everything she talked about in lecture and was always willing to help students out during office hours or thru email. The discussion was always engaging and the material stayed interesting throughout the semester. I definitely learned a lot more than I thought I would. 10/10!!

Dr. Kate is so sweet and truly cares about each student. The course material was super eye-opening and really made me think about things in a different light. Taking this class will without a doubt make you a better person.

Super interesting class and professor Phelps makes it very engaging. Not a lot of homework but there are only a few assignments so you need to do well on all of them. D

Dr. Kate is the best professor that I have ever had! I have had her for three semesters for three different classes - each class I got an A and each class was better than the last! She creates a welcoming community and teaches you better than any professor I've ever had. She makes each student feel noticed, appreciated, and understood!

I LOVED Dr. Kate. She was so understanding and caring and she was always available to talk about anything. She made class interesting and she was so knowledgeable and excited to teach us. She assigned many readings each week but they were always interesting and went with the class. Everything was clear and laid out. 10/10 would recommend.
