Took me three tries to land Dr. Greenberg instead of T. Winston, and the difference is unreal. Dropped Winston's class twice—her teaching just didn't click. Greenburg is clear, fair, and actually teaches. If you get into her section, consider yourself lucky and just push through the dry material.
If you have to take PSYCH 225, take it with Dr. Greenberg! She genuinely cares about students. She really makes sure that you understand the concepts and is very approachable if you have questions or need help. Imo the content was boring because it isn't my fav subject, but the exams and paper were not bad.
Dr. Greenberg is without a doubt the best professor to take this class with. Read the textbook because it truly does help (highlight key terms and such!) Pretend you are a researcher in this class. Work hard on your RP at the beginning–you'll thank me later. Take advantage of that extra credit (adds 5% to your grade (yes you heard me right).
Professor Greenberg is without a doubt the best professor to teach this course. Although her lectures may be boring, they are useful. Read the textbook because it truly does help. Work really hard on your RP at the beginning because it will be smooth sailing after that. This class IS manageable. Also, take advantage of that extra credit!
Professor Greenberg is really boring. She is nice and I thought the exams were fair, but the material was uninteresting. The grading on the RP and labs are strict. You get full points off for minor errors. Take advantage of TA office hours. It is not an easy class. She is probably the best professor for 225, the class in general just sucks.
Professor was very kind, but the exams were not easy. You definitely need to do the readings or at least skim the textbook, as the lecture slides alone will not sufice. One problem with grading is that they took off full points for very minor errors. I actually lost a point for a title of my graph not being double-spaced, on a 20 point assignment.
The hard truth of the matter is that many psychology students are not ready for 225, which is a formative class as opposed to raw memorization, and general knowledge as other Psych courses are. This class is easy compared to actually difficult classes, but difficult, if all you've take is
Dr. Greenberg is a great professor so don't listen to the other reviews as 225 is just a bad class in general. Greenberg is caring, engaging, and knowledgeable. While there is a semester-long super heavy paper, Greenberg structures it as best as she can to make it as manageable as possible. If you have to take 225, 100% take it with her.
I think that 225 in general is a really difficult class (and a CommB), but Professor Greenberg is truly very caring and helps the class to make it more manageable. The grade is heavily based on the Research Proposal, but all of the smaller writing assignments lead up to the final draft.
Professor Greenberg is very nice, and was willing to give extensions when necessary which was helpful. However, the lectures were very boring/did not learn (yet attendance is graded- hate that). Grading criteria for paper was extremely unclear and not expressed to us, either from her or TA. Lab doesn't relate to any other part of course.
By far one of the worst classes I've taken. Don't understand why this is a required psych course; there's an overwhelming amount of info on lecture slides. Very little guidance/workshop on the final research paper. Not to mention, the lab is almost 2 hours long and it's very busy work that's unrelated to classwork, the textbook or the paper.
Prof Greenberg is nice, but her lectures are slow, boring, and dry. Slides extremely disorganized and hard to follow. Tons of reading. Exam material is never clear which makes studying difficult. Also material itself is also only interesting if you care about primate research. Discussion grading criteria also unclear. Wouldn't recommend this class.
Not a good professor/lecturer. It's not needed because nothing you learn in lecture is something you couldn't have gotten from the book. Worst slides ever and disorganized. Expected to focus only on this class. She also acts as thought everything said is important and that you should be grateful to be in class. Better off taking the summer course.
Attendance in lecture isn't mandatory but is helpful with exam content. The large semester-long research proposal is mostly discussed in lab and outside of class-- lecture content is often unrelated to it. Lectures are a bit bland. Good professor, just a very time-consuming course.
Seems very nice but very boring lectures. Always comparing hyenas in a class about primates. Exams are never clear on the material. Lots of readings and boring lectures, but no way to know what will be on the exam. Slow talker aswell
While Greenberg is by far the better prof to take for 225, the class is generally just difficult. The most frustrating aspect of this class was the nit-picky grading from the TAs and Greenberg. We had to teach ourselves the material way too often, even with instructions in labs and papers saying to use our TAs as resources who were unhelpful.
"Professor" Greenberg not only has the worst and most boring lectures ever, but she also has the worst assignments ever. Get ready to have a bunch of meaningless labs and assignments. If you mess up apa format on any of your assignments, you are automatically out of a bunch of points. The rubrics are awful and the instructors give no guidance.
I feel bad because Prof Greenberg is nice but quite possibly the most unengaging lecturer I've ever had. I think I showed up to a total of 7 lectures because most things were right out of the textbook and reading was more interesting than sitting through her slides. Exams were fair though, and the course wasn't too hard. I had a good TA.
Almost everything covered in the lecture is also in the textbook and the lectures are a bit boring. Labs are also not very well designed to help us understand the content. They are often too rigid and not stimulating at all. The course uses Excel instead of modern statistical tools, which is kind of outdated and inconvenient.
The class itself is overwhelming and difficult which probably elicits the poor reviews on here for Prof Greenberg. She's is a solid, helpful, and fair professor. Lectures are clear and easy to follow. Labs are a little confusing at times but manageable. I didn't read any of the textbook and still managed to do well. Exams are pretty easy.
Professor Greenberg thinks that our lives revolve around Psych 225. She is not understanding of any feedback that students give regarding the class and does not seem like she cares about students. Grading takes forever, Piazza questions are not answered promptly and many are skipped, and deadlines are not clear and posted. BORING LECTURES
Prof Greenberg is unaccommodating and completely disregards input from students. The class material and assignments are fair, but Prof Greenberg's lack of communication, transparency, and flexibility makes this class much more difficult than it needs to be. She is probably the better professor to take for psych 225, but not by much.
