Weekly chances for 1-2 page writing assignments - only do 5 total. Lectures are primarily verbal, and class contains a fair amount of discussion outside of section. We had a few intense group projects (two debates + a roleplay game). Kinzley himself is a king, though the feedback on exams (etc.) can be a little vague due to time constraints.

I specifically choose courses with Kinzley because he's fantastic. Quite a few writing assignments through the sem and a large project at the end of the class, but if you manage your time it's doable. Cares deeply about individuals' learning; lectures are entertaining (and useful)! Would rate a 6/5 if I could. All-around fantastic person & prof.

I wish every prof was as good as Kinzley. His lectures are so engaging and interesting, he is passionate about what he teaches and it really shows. Fair grading and reasonable workload. A chunk of his lecture time is spent on audience participation, so make sure to do readings. He doesn't post slides so notes are important.

He is an amazing professor with organized course work. The logic is clear, and the workload is fine. The only bad thing is the group in the group project is so large (about 10 persons) that it is not possible to make everybody work.

I really enjoyed this class, he sent out video lectures to watch, and we had a group discussion. I need to watch the lectures and discussion mandatory. Weekly short paper (2-3) pages, 2 midterms, and exam. Interesting lectures and reading were provided in canvas, maybe 30 pages a week.

He is sometimes serious about students' writing but always give good feedbacks.

Kinzley is a prof with charming and enthusiastic personality. In fact just listening to him in lecture make me feel like sitting in a theater. He gives average amount of history reading, but don't give out lecture slides so it is really important to go to class. If you are a slow writer then be careful about the exams, not hard if u attend lecture.

Judd is a wonderful prof. Go to class, write down the notes on the slides, and apply those to the papers and you'll get above a B, depending on how well you write. I read nothing but the novel he assigned. He made ancient chinese history exciting and seemed interested in the subject matter. Interesting, straightforward, and not too much work. Great
