Jordan cares, which is more than I can say about the material. I didn't have to read a single word in this class from her very concise and clear lectures, and she's only going to test you on what she said. Papers and exams were straight forward, literally just show up and write down what she said and you'll do fine. Easy enough lit credit.
I really enjoyed taking Prof. Zweck's class. She is really passionate about what she is teaching, especially when it comes to medeival English. She will take the time to answer any questions that you have, which is really helpful. She can also give some leeway with certain deadlines just so long as you tell her beforehand.
Zweck is AMAZING. She makes the readings make sense and makes connections that you would have never thought of. Important to attend lecture because you will not get everything you need for exams without attending. Amazing lecturer, made me fall in love with English all over again. Also great online accommodations
Professor Zweck has wellness checks throughout the semester and acts like she cares- when I had COVID and mixed up my due dates and expressed my concerns about a paper being late, she completely dismissed me, causing me to lose a lot of points. She is the only professor not willing to hep me out. Do not take during a pandemic or ever. Engl 241
Zweck is an excellent lecturer and is very clear and detailed in her analyses of passages from the readings. She was also very responsive to student questions and was helpful in office hours. Handled online class (Fall 2020) extremely well - she was always organized and accommodating. I would highly recommend her!
She will analyze bits of text in the lectures, which is super helpful if you haven't gotten the chance to do the readings yet. Zweck is very bright and highly detailed and specific in her analysis. She often left after lecture to go to her next class, but she is always available through emails or office hours.
If you stay on top of reading, the class should be easy. Go to lecture because you will not always understand everything in the readings and Jordan does a good job clearing some things up. Two papers, one midterm, one final.
Her lectures are fascinating, and she's a pro at delivering them - they are organized, insightful, and extremely helpful to understanding the readings. The two class essays are very difficult though, requiring a lot of complex, abstract thought. I felt her instructions for them were a little bit vague, as was her one-on-one advice.
Great professor. Some lectures are lose-track-of-time captivating.
Cool professor, enthusiastic lectures were slow and sometimes to pedantic
Zweck was really good. She was very helpful and very welcoming to questions. Personally, I really disliked the content, but she did a good job teaching the material and was very passionate and knowledgeable. Two papers, a midterm, and a final exam.
Even though old lit (the only subject you would take with her) can be boring, she makes it bearable and even a bit interesting for those of us who need to take her class for an English major. Also, she's super helpful in office hours and will help you with writing or talk about anything medieval. Again, great prof.
Prof. Zweck is great. I didn't necessarily enjoy the course content, but she's clearly passionate about the material and really cares about her students.
Professor Zweck was great. The class was pretty easy, short quizzes every week, only one paper, a group presentation, midterm and final not that difficult. Pay attention in class and you'll do fine. She's very passionate about what she teaches. Be prepared for a lot of Old and Middle English.
Professor Zweck is incredible teacher. She is great teacher and person. TAS graded class, but Professor Zweck gave speeches and was really good.
She really cares what she's talking about. As long as you attend lectures and read the material you'll be fine, and she posts everything online, so if you don't, that's fine too.
Professor Zweck is the best professor ever. She is really smart and helpful and very down to earth and willing to help you.
I had little interest in the course (it was medieval literature) but ended up learning a lot and loving the class because of how passionate she was about the material.
