Very nice/friendly guy - insists on getting to know everyone by name. Class wasn't very well organized in my opinion but overall was a good experience. Homeworks are easy, and midterm content was pretty fair, but be prepared to be tested on content covered the day prior to the exam. Prof. Yin is a fair option for this class.

Professor Yin is a humorous and fun professor that takes a little warming up to. He teaches from the book and can explain even the most difficult concepts. However, he is teaching an incredibly difficult subject and makes no effort to attempting to make it more understandable. Put in the time and you will succeed!

Professor Yin teaching 320 online was probably the worst experience of my undergrad career. There were 10 min quizzes every Friday morning where the average was almost always failing and the 2 hour discussions were about as pointless as you can get. I ended up dropping out of Engineering thanks to this class which could be a blessing or not idk yet

Prof. Yin is one of the best professors at UW. He is a very clear lecturer, is one of the smartest professors I know, and explains things very well. Not only is he a great lecturer, but he honestly cares about his students. In CBE 470, he made sure to have lunch with each student and is always available for help if you need it.

I never get bored during his lecture. His delivery is so clear and well-crafted that it is almost impossible to not understand. Absolutely one of the best professors on UW campus.

Professor Yin is the best! He give great lectures with clear equation derivation, graphics, and example problems. I also like when he relates concepts to real world phenomena. Be warned: when he goes off script, he gives really convoluted example that are hard to follow. He once told us to imagine the room was "filled with salad dressing." XD

Very clear and effective lecturer. If you listen carefully and write down pertinent equations you will do well. Exams are tough, but not tricky and can be mastered.
