John was my lab prof for a year. He was a good teacher - laid back, but still capable of getting his point across. Readings were relevant and interesting. A very nice guy. Recommended highly!

Great Professor! Very nice and helpful if you talk to him. Some of the articles you'll read for his classes/research lab will be difficult, but interesting. He really cares about what he's doing.

Really approachable and very helpful

Took it the very first semester he ever taught this, specifically because he was the only actual professor who was teaching the class. Very wise move, actually a likeable person, and compared to the complaints I've heard about the classes run by TA's, he's by far your best option for this class.

very cool proferssor....class is somewhat hard but he is always open to questions and makes a fairly boring topic somewhat fun....definitely recommend if you have to take 225 for your major....

Thought the class was very interesting and assigned journal articles were, for the most part, well written and interesting. Professor seems to have good command of knowledge in area of addiction. More structure to the class discussions would be good.

Really nice guy and very open to questions, but his tests are somewhat difficult. Very smart dude.
