The best prof I've ever had. You can tell she really cares about her students and their success. This class really is what you make of it, she gives you all the resources and readings. If you want to come to lecture unprepared, you'll prob be fine. But if you want to get the most of this class, engage in discussion and even just skim the readings.

Professor Johnson is overall a good professor. However, the only thing I disliked about the course was that only four assignments primarily determined your grade. Two exams, one individual project, and a paper. I also felt that exams were written without clear and concise answers to some of the questions. Grades also took forever to receive.

The topic of this course is interesting, Professor Johnson is nice, and the lecture is fun. The only thing I hate about this course is that it grades based on two exams, a comic + analysis, and a paper. And the TA grading assignments is a little harsh.

Prof Johnson is great. Super interesting class material and unique assignments/discussions. Class and readings are both interesting. You can do well without going to lecture or doing the readings tbh but I usually wanted to go. Class let out 10 minutes early most of the time!

What a great professor! She is easy to listen to and I found lectures to be super interesting and fly by. The assignments are not hard or demanding and there is an emphasis on learning which I appreciated. Take this class!

I feel like this wasn't even a college course. It was basically communication-related vocabulary lectured at us in class, then a stale, surface level discussion of its application in discussion. very boring, but easy A. Johnson seems nice enough, but i was bored all semester

Her classes have almost no relevance in an academic setting. Relies on hundreds of readings and articles so she doesn't have to teach a thing. The papers have no clear rubric and she isn't even the one that grades them. Avoid this professor. You'll end up getting more frustrated than you will actually learn something.

Lots of assigned readings, but she goes over the main things she wants you to get out of them in lecture. Never did the readings and ended up with an A. She is an amazing lecturer and really engages you in the course. Two papers, two debate, and two exams, so not too bad; the papers are just on the longer side. Would definitely recommend CA262!

I loved this class but you do need to be passionate about politics. The 2 papers are studying presidential debates and they took me more time than anything else I had to do this semester. Prof. Johnson has amazing lectures & really cares about the material. I invested more time into this class than my other 4 & 5 credit courses but it was worth it.

Professor Johnson is great. She gives really great lectures and makes you actually enjoy coming to class. Definitely recommend taking CA262 with her!

Jenell is an incredibly intelligent and articulate professor. She knows exactly how to get information across and is very captivating when she's lecturing. I would love to take another one of Jenell's classes. She exemplifies and embodies exactly what a prestigious professor should.

Professor Johnson is very passionate and organizes this class well so that the course itself is in the form of an argument. She is also very kind and ready to answer questions in lecture or outside of class. 2 papers, 2 debates, 2 exams, and participation make up most of the grade. Grading is fair. A majority of the work comes in the last weeks.

You can tell she's passionate about com classes which is nice because it makes lectures stimulating, and she really likes the meme doge so get ready for a lot of that. She's really funny and sweet and lecture is definitely recommended. This class is term heavy but if you have a good grasp of the material you will get an A. Look for quizlets!!!

Every student at UW-Madison should take Limits of the Human with Dr. Johnson. I'm serious. There is a lot of reading, and you have to do it, but some of the reading was actually interesting (except the theoretical stuff early in the semester). I talked about this class constantly, and I actually wanted to go to class!

Class seemed to go so slow. We review stuff for so long and it tends to drag on. Jenell herself seems like a cool person and tried hard to make lectures interesting but it simply didn't do it for me. Most of the coursework is back-loaded but don't worry you'll have plenty to do during the semester. My TA was a somewhat tough grader but not awful.

Horrible class. Nice professor, but every single assignment is vague with unclear criteria. Super easy class if you attend lecture- don't bother touching any of the readings. Easy A for sure.

This was one of the most thought provoking classes I took at UW Madison. Lots of readings, but they were pretty interesting.

Johnson is the most unoriginal professor I've had, she spends a majority of the class summing up readings or criticizing students for not doing the readings. If you like being patronized and talked down to then she's the perfect professor for you, but if you get an appendectomy she won't be sympathetic or even let you make up an assignment.

Really nice and fun teacher to have. Her feedback is really thoughful. The bookwork sucks and the exams are rubric-graded but there's nothing she can do about that. I give her two and a half thumbs up.
